I have lived in santa fe for 10 years, was in any restaurant. and I must say not only has tokyo cafe always quality sushi, but I would like to mention that they make the best calamari I have ever had. some calamari has too much broth and almost no meat, but in tokyo caffe they serve meaty roast calamari with the perfect amount of broth. this is the best sushi place in santa fe View all feedback.
Let me first say that the food was very good. It was my first time to eat here. My partner and I waited about 20 minutes to sit, which wasn't a big deal. Except that our total time in the restaurant was almost 2 hours. After we sit, no one came to bring water or to take our order. The hostess who sat us took our order. That was the last thing we've seen from someone for some time. The party before us got her food, and the two groups behind us, Santa Fe Yuppies, who had decided to sit at the Sushi Bar, both were served before us. I had to fly a server and ask if she could check our food. Was about 15 or 20 minutes up on the sushi bar. Everyone was really polite, but a little communication goes far. I will try to eat there again, possibly in a night or time, if it is not as busy as Sunday night. After serving people all day, it was just a little disappointing, ignored and forgotten about it and not offered a free dessert that would cost them $4 to help me feel better about my bad experience. Santa Maria Only and nobody cares about the service here. Surprising.
Went around lunch time with my grandmother. We were the only people dining in. When we enter Tokyo cafe the floor was SOO STICKY!! Every little step our shoes made a sticky sound ?. The booth we were sat at was occupied by flies. The flies would not leave us alone. We mentioned that to our waitress multiple times but she did not suggest to move us or offer to help. *I recommend bringing your own fly swatter while you eat* we didn't wait long for our meal, we got started off with miso soup and vegetables tempura and our food came shortly after. It was really hard to enjoy our meal because of the non-stop constant bugs of the flies trying to land on our food and it was just tiring swatting them. I don't know what the hype is about the dishes I've saw on Google about this restaurant... We had a total different experience.. Our lunch was bland. Usually don't see any salt or peppers at any japanese restaurant because flavors is on point but I felt like a lot of the components in our main dish didn't have taste. Maybe we didn't came on their good days? I would like to retry this restaurant at a different time when it's most busy. Hopefully by then, my posted review will change but for now it is what it is.
Small locations with friendly staff. Sushi was superb, plating was creative and elegant. I also had a hibachi filet mignon that surpassed my expectations of what I was going to receive for the price definitely recommend.
This place is actually beyond my expectation. All dishes we ordered are tasty, and the crazy Cajun sushi is awesome!
This place is incredible! We were visiting Santa Fe and this place blew us away. The food portions are perfect and the food was delivered no later than 10 minutes after ordering. Not to mention that the interior was very pleasant. The bathroom was also clean
