A unique experience. Everything was absolutely perfect. The mole is something I have never before, so you try four different. We had several dishes that we all shared. The wonderful boss came to see us and everyone else. Our waiter was the kindest. Book a long time in advance. View all feedback.
What Vivian C doesn't like about Sazón:
Came here for tasting menu dinner in May 2023. We started off with excellent margaritas and then it all went downhill from there. The food was bizarre!! They started us off with a sweet ice cream fondant (which we later saw others having for dessert). Shrimp tempura with sriracha aioli seemed basic and out of place for high end Mexican. They repeated the aioli with the fish on crackers. Octopus was tender but drownin... View all feedback.

A culinary experience that started with tasting is different mols and ended with one of the most incredible dessert dishes I had! A must in Santa Fe. Mol tasting helped to make the taste buds alive. The chef crab soup is as good as it gets, tasty and sweet in triple layer. The appetizers and main courses are all unique classics, or a completely new creation by the cook. The Xochilmilkos are an example of a truly unique appetizer, while the Cholula entree was more average than expected for my range, probably due to the heavy use of chocolate and cinnamon. The cocktails also have an incredible depth. I should come back to try the many other menu items!
We just wrapped a very nice dinner in Sazon. We live nearby and for some reason it never did the cut on our list. The menu had many great options and loved the Mol Sampler as a starter. The shrimp, bone marrow and octopus were also delicious. The cocktail selection and wine list were fun with many great options from the Guadalupe Valley (and a competent and friendly server). The reason for 4 stars versus 5 stars was the cook spent all night photo-opps (repeat when you try to enjoy your meal? Food) and concerns about table arrangements (which was very obvious as a casual observer). I have never been with Geronimo, Santacafe or The compound, where they focus on food and customer service, so I think we will stay with those as our regular spots.
An incredibly beautiful culinary experience. Eating here is really a wild ride of aromas and sensory experiences. From the delightful muzzle plate to the most interesting soup I ever had (sopa de amor) to the melt in my mouth Ente to the absolutely surprising Dulce Sinofonía, that was one of the best meals I have ever enjoyed. The experience was also made fun by the cook, which pages to choose, based on your meat and mol pairing. The Dulce Sinofonía was so unique that they don't tell you what five flavors are in dessert until you take your first bite. Such a fun experience with which we celebrated our anniversary.
We were excited about eating here even before it received a James Beard nomination...and I have to say that the entire experience lived up to the hype (and then some). This is a fine-dining restaurant with the prices to match, but the food is so unique and delicious and the service so on-point that it was worth every penny. The room itself is lovely--dark and refined but punctuated by brilliant artwork hanging on every wall. The initial mole tasting was not only fun but also helpful, since we ended up choosing the main course option of selecting a protein (I got halibut, my husband got pork) and choosing your favorite mole to go with it. Every dish was fascinating and delicious and beautiful to look at--you can see and taste the level of care and detail that goes into all of them. The chef came out to talk to every group of diners and even posed for a selfie with us as we were leaving! The juxtaposition of traditional fine-dining touches with flavors you may have never experienced left us delighted at the end, and we can't wait to go back.
