Not sure why this is rated as a 4-star property (as Google has), but it gets 4 stars from me! We have no problems here. Starting with the good: 1. This property is centrally located near a restaurant and a bar that you want. 2. Vibes: cute, Santa Fe style and character. 3. Accommodation: The people at the reception were friendly and the check is early. To the non-so-good: 1. Cleanliness: our room was quite dusty and... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Inn At Vanessie:
The pictures and the description of the ?motel? are absolutely not accurate. There is no piano bar open. No restaurant open. This is a resort now. We were calculated for each night for a resort fee we stayed and we had absolutely nothing to stay out of a room. I booked a larger room and they gave me the wrong room for booking. We woke up with ants (at least 100) ants in bed. The staff was very apologetic, but they co... View all feedback.
We have stayed here on our visits to Santa Fe for over 30 years. The experience has been consistently very nice. Obviously, or we would not have kept coming back. The style and decor is definitely authentic southwest and the atmosphere is well. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have thick walls so your room remains quiet. It located within walking distance of the plaza and it has its own parking. The rooms are locked with a coded keypad so you do not have to keep up with a card or key. They provide breakfast which usually has a southwest entree and a nice side board of fresh fruit and a tasty apple granola crumble. They also provide a voucher for a daily cocktail. They also have a separate bar for use by the guests and a piano player at breakfast and in the bar in the evening. The staff is very accommodating and pleasant. It is not a large complex which we like and has a section of ground floor rooms and a separate unit of 2 levels. The upper level is accessed by stairs, so request a ground floor if you would be unable to make the climb. We feel that the total experience thereprovides a lot of value for the daily rate on the rooms. We like this establishment very much and will return again on our next visit here. I think most who have stayed here probably feel the same.
We enjoyed our stay. The rooms and entire property is very unique. The breakfast was excellent with traditional fare of eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. In addition they had a good variety of fruits and other foods. We enjoyed listening to the music combo in the bar/ restaurant. There were two negatives. The vanity lighting wasn't very good in the bathroom and the number of parking spaces were totally inadequate. The location close to the Plaza and other old town spots is great. All in all it is worth the visit.
We were coming into town and did a quick search online. Picked this place due to their low rate and location close to the Santa Fe Plaza. The guy at the front desk was super welcoming. Room was quiet and clean and very well decorated. The complimentary breakfast was just perfect with fresh fruit, fresh sliced avocado, bacon, eggs, potatoes and much more. All with a live piano player in the dining area. Short walk to the Plaza. Will stay here again when we return.
I’ve have visited Santa Fe for over 24 years and know it well. During that last 25 years Ive stayed in every hotel so that I can recommend to friends. The Inn at Vanessie’s was one of the last ones left for me to visit. I wish I could offer a better review. The good about the Inn is the breakfast. One of the best continental breakfasts Ive encountered. It goes down hill from there. Many issues in my bathroom with broken shower and dripping water, and TV would often jam on to one channel. It’s noisy during day while cleaning staff are present, often yelling back and forth across courtyard and in alley where I had a patio. Parking was a nightmare and I often was directed to park elsewhere after staff were allowed priority parking. No one is around after 10 for ice or to handle issues or to assure security. The worst of all was that after staying over seven days I asked to check out one hour later noon) verse 11am due to a work call and basically was told no. So much for just having spent a lot of money at the Inn. That tells you everything you need to know about lack of customer appreciation at this place. Overall, It’s run down and poorly managed. You can do better for your money in Santa Fe elsewhere.
Website is not accurate in representing what is offered and front desk staff is unable to offer reasonable or customer-focused solutions. We booked a suite that said it sleeps 4 and arrived with 4 people only to be told that the suite sleeps 3 and we would have to pay for a second room if we plan to have four people. In response to my frustration, front desk staff, who was apparently not empowered to offer any solution, called manager multiple times with no answer. So we had to go elsewhere.A hotel that advertises itself as as a luxury hotel should have an accurate website, customer friendly solutions, and staff who are empowered to carry out those solutions.
