Nestled near a local museum, this restaurant has garnered mixed reviews from patrons. While some rave about the generous portions and delightful pies, others express disappointment in service and food quality. Diners praised the sandwiches, particularly the Huckleberry Monte Cristo and clam chowder, along with standout desserts like the German chocolate pie. However, inconsistent experiences, like unfriendly staff interactions and concerns over food freshness, emerged in several accounts. Despite these critiques, the restaurant's charming atmosphere and the owner's warm demeanor continue to draw customers back, promising potential for improvement in both service and culinary consistency.

Was User at Pie Hut a mag?
Fantastic food and excellent service! We tried the Huckleberry Monte Cristo, the Filipino Tocino, and BBQ pork belly sandwiches, and they were all incredible! We also had some cakes, which were delightful. If you're interested in the family pot cake, it's definitely worth trying. The chili was mediocre, but overall, we left satisfied and will definitely return! View all feedback.

What Shitsville101 dislikes about Pie Hut:
Popped in to try to get a bite after visiting the museum, but their kitchen closes at 330 and they close at 4. Got a piece of pie to go, and they only take cash, so be aware before you decide to eat here. The lady at the counter wasn't super friendly either; although she was professional, I felt like I was inconveniencing her by being there. The pie was really good though. View all feedback.

I was looking forward to having some cake, and I enjoyed a delicious cheese and broccoli soup along with a turkey sandwich on rye. For dessert, I indulged in a chocolate pecan pie. I also took home a whole mixed cake and some of the soup. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly, and we will definitely be back!

We literally just left and I'm so stuffed! The food was fantastic and the staff is so friendly. The German chocolate pie is so delicious. I have the food sweats now and have to lie down....

As for parking, there is a lot across Church Street, but be cautious, as it's private parking. There’s a gravel lot on the west side that can get full at times, and street parking is limited to four hours. The south (Antique) lot is gravel and offers parking spaces as well. If you have mobility concerns, you'll find the restaurant is wheelchair accessible, with spaced seating and an asphalt ramp leading up to the sidewalk entrance on the right side of the building, near the Pie Hut in the antique district.

A bit snooty and overpriced. Only take cash. Deserts are super sweet. Limited seating and often crowded.
