To grossly generalize, I would say that the kitchen's current menu prioritizes texture over taste in a pleasing way. The food was more interesting than savory, more evocative than sublime. Portions and pacing were on point. The personalized menus (with wine pairings noted! were a nice touch. One negative: hand soap in the bathroom should be unscented but the facilities otherwise are top notch.

It was our first meal on our first trip to San Francisco and I’m so glad we started our time in California... read more We had a wonderful experience at Sons and Daughters. It was our first meal on our first trip to San Francisco and I’m so glad we started our time in California this way. Every team member takes great pride in the food, its local sources, its presentation, and the city itself. We loved hearing each dish explained and enjoyed all of the awesome plates and serving ware it came on. While it was hard to pick a favorite dish, the broth, rutabaga, and quail dishes were standouts. The wine pairings were also spot on and interesting. We were celebrating a special occasion and everyone was so warm and congratulatory, the welcome notes and take home menus were very appreciated. We hope to be back soon! I love that Harrison Cheney brought Nordic cuisine into San Francisco having cooked at amazing places before he is taking Sons&Daughters to excellence. I really enjoy the flavors they bring some of the Northern Europe seasons I miss, as well as beautiful delicate plating. I keep coming here and the dinner evolves all the time there is always something new. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
