In San Francisco for the week from New York. Been eating all over SF but decided to try Sabra today. Great choice. Super friendly owner, great service but the food was actually incredible. Some of the best falafel I’ve ever had and the chicken shawarma plate was amazing. Felt very homestyle and will be back when I’m in San Francisco again.

We live nearby and were curious to finally try this place.TLDR: the prices are absurd and the food is mediocre. I wanted it to be great but did not deliver. We almost got up and left due to the prices but decided to share the grilled eggplant/falafel/salad appetizer. This was $18.Things that were good grilled eggplant- the quirky well-meaning staff- pita breadThings that were mediocre hummus- falafel (some were mostly just fried crust, others mushy in the middle)Things that were bad baba ganoush- prices 25 for one skewer, $32 for two!!!!! Even for SF prices, this is totally bonkers)

Always loved this place for its unique vibe, and the freshly prepared food served up with a side of chutzpah. Just make sure you check the calendar because they are a small family run business, and they close for many Orthodox holidays. Recommendfalafel pitas, any grill plate, and the apps.
