Overall, the restaurant received mixed reviews. While some customers found the staff friendly and the atmosphere pleasant, others were disappointed by the food quality and service. Some felt that the dishes were mediocre and lacking in flavor, while others enjoyed classic American dishes but did not find them particularly memorable. The ambience was praised by some, but others felt it was lacking. Pricing was considered a bit high for the quality of the food. However, there were positive mentions of specific dishes like the Little Gems salad, pork chop, and hot chocolate cake. Despite the mixed opinions, the restaurant's central location and diverse menu options were highlighted as positives.
Food was really amazing. They do a great job of pairing different combinations that make you mouth feel like it’s a party going on. Things you would never think goes together very creative combinations of cookery.
Service was too slow. Waited for hours for the food to come out and no notifications from the staff. Kind of an expensive place for that level of service
I have been going to Prospect since it opened nearly 13 years ago. The restaurant is beautiful and warm! The high ceilings are spectacular! I had the lobster bucatini and absolutely delicious! There were big portions of fresh lobster with delicious mushrooms! My girlfriend had the fried chicken. We finished dinner off with the Tres leches! They gave us their famous popcorn as a little gift! Kathy and the team are exceptional!
This restaurant is smack close to a lot of shopping options as well as closer to the commuter hub. A walkable distance from the embarcadero BART station as well. Entering the restaurant, we passed by the bar and were generously offered a seat by ourhostess. We got seated right by the windows giving us prime views to the high rises in the city. Nice! Out waitress attended toour table quickly to explain a few of the options available to us as appetizers. We chose to go with the Hokkaido milk breadwith some honey butter on the side. The one bread with the fresh smell of milk and the honey butter was too much to resist. Themenu had some decent options for vegetarians as well as those that preferred meat options. I went with the risotto andabsolutely enjoyed the dish. The dessert menu had very tempting options as well. The ambiance was just perfect to have abusiness meeting as well as enjoy the wonderful menu options. Highly recommend the place if you're here for the evening oryou're passing through.
Prospect offers a fine dining experience. 5 stars for ambiance 5 stars for food 5 stars for service I went to Prospect to celebrate a birthday at Prospect. What a great choice! The interior is lovely wood with modern clean lines. It felt spacious. Inthe main room there is a wall with velvet, a nice soothing pale green with floral patterns on it. When my party arrived, wewere quickly seated in a booth. Spacious seating for our small group. The wait staff appeared promptly in case we wanted toorder cocktails. There is a fine wine menu but I opted to get a non-alcoholic drink: the Prospect Cooler, a mix of juice andsyrups. Very light but refreshing. The food menu has a good variety in case you feel like a light bite, want to share plates orwant a full meal. There are vegetarian bites as well as one veggie focus d entree. I liked the variety of choices for the mainbecause if I wanted vegetable risotto or a steak they were both options. My scallop starter with small curls of calamari in aseafood and butter sauce was Delicious! For the group, we ordered the Hokkaido Milk bread with furoshike butter…like Hawaiianbread (a brioche) but a smooth milk taste. We all chose the Heritage Pork Chop (a winner) which had fried okra, slices ofgrilled apricot, potato cake and pickled greens. The pork was tender and juicy. A combination that evoked a savvy chef’sSouthern dish. For dessert, we had the light pineapple upside down cake with coconut ice cream. Great finish. The kitchen evenplaced a birthday candle on the plate. Overall, I was impressed with Prospect restaurant; a surprise treat which I plan toreturn to again and again!
