friendly service, good food, what more can you ask for? mister nanking and family are running around in this busy chinese food joint, but never to busy to stop by and chit-chat w/you. if it’s your first time and don’t know what to order, don’t worry, mr. nanking himself will come and not only recommend dishes off the menu, but order them for you! huge portions, be prepared to share! What Keara Ward doesn't like about House Of Nanking:
Most overrated chinese restaurant in SF. With so many excellent chinese restaurants in SF, why would you go here? Greasy spoon chinese is NOT real chinese food (go to Hong Kong of have a homecooked chinese meal and you’ll understand). If you still want to try it, maybe the undercooked chicken will change your mind. View all feedback.
Love the house noodles which was made fresh and the peppery taste. This was a great find-not to mention Keanu Reeves and many stars like Priyanka Chopra love it there too.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Nanking. It was raining out, but we sat outside anyway and even got a little wet on the sidewalk- but it all added to the experience! The owner greeted us and when we explained we had a gluten-free eater with us, he said he would order for us (all of us) and they explained everything clearly when they brought it out. Two dishes were gluten-free (first two photos). They brought out two appetizers and three other dishes. It was extraordinary. The ribs fell off the bones. The honey glazed apple shrimp was amazing. And the mustard sauce on two of the dishes was phenomenal. Don’t miss this restaurant!
House of Nanking is one of the favorite Chinese restaurants in San Francisco’s Chinatown. Although there are a lot of chinese places to eat, this one always gets an upper hand when it comes to authentic chinese food in the US. The place is always full of people, so make sure you can grab a seat soon. The vegetarian dumplings were a good experience with peas and zucchini filling. Fried rice was upto the mark. Loved the sauce. Both pocket and taste friendly!
This food was average, not mind blowing according to other reviews. Also, the waiters were not that helpful. This is a pretty good place if you want to come but will probably not come again.
Absolutely incredible restaurant. The food was very unique Chinese fusion. When we sat down and explained one of us had a gluten allergy the waiter said don't worry I'll take care of you and order for you. And we are so grateful he did! We had an incredible assortment of dishes that were all made to be gluten free. Come here expecting the untraditional and delicious!
