we sat outside, the heating made it very cozy. it's loud, but we enjoyed it as part of the night life of the city around us. the food was excellent, I had the kicherbsburger and my partner chose the lammschellen. View all feedback.
What Willa Gottlieb doesn't like about aliment:
years ago I had a really nice brunch at aliment, so I thought I would try the dinner. it is still a nice place to look at, but eating was sadly subpar. I had the fried huh. the crust was far over boiled and dry, the mac and cheese beside dish was tiny, and the calf was wet and tasteless. insulting to injuries came two drinks and a terrible chicken dinner at $90 after controlling and never tip. A small group of us popped in for dinner before seeing a show at The Curran Theatre, which is just 3 blocks away. The restaurant is small and very charming. The food is truly superb. I ordered a grilled Porkchop over mashed yams and it was out of this world. This restaurant is especially good if you have dietary restrictions. My wife has very complex restrictions and most of their menu is either already vegan/gluten-free or they can easily accommodate changes. We're looking forward to another visit.
We only went for dessert and a drink but Yummy bread pudding and excellent service. Nice wine and cocktail list. Michelin Guide Recommended. Wish I could try those scallops but they weren't on current menu. From the bar, you watch the chefs cook. Upstairs dining area a bit more private. Would be a great spot for a date!
My fried chicken was extremely overcooked and they evidently don't take allergies seriously. I told the server about my allergy and he checked with the kitchen to make sure my dish didn't include it, only he only asked about one item in the dish, and in the appetizer I had to ask him specifically about one item that made its way all the way onto my plate, which yes indeed, did include the ingredient. I don't know what else it was in but afterward I felt like throwing up on the way home and now I'm sitting at home right with my face, mouth, and throat burning and itching, and pain in all my extremities. I know allergies are annoying to deal with in food service but discounting them is a dick move, and assuming they aren't real just because someone doesn't go into anaphylaxis on the spot doesn't mean they aren't allergic. What if I were more allergic than this? I hope that place almost kills someone but doesn't quite. I gave a really good tip too. I wish I could go back in time and take it back.
Great place to stop by around union square! The spices they used for the fried chicken were so good but the monkeubread was easily my favorite! My fiancee really liked the lenthil soup esp in these sf summers. The chacuterie board was pretty good overall as well Great staff with wonderful recommendations and some cool aesthetics!
Oh my gosh, we had these at a work offsite and even though they were just popped up, the sliders were so good!! Service was great and it was a fun opportunity to learn more about this SF spot. Would definitely go back to the shop when I return!
