Back then, you could find real butter and so many other delightful items. It’s such a beautiful place to shop now, and I still love visiting the market.

However, there is n... read more The Saint John City Market holds the title of Canada's oldest continuously operated farmer's market, with a charter that dates back to 1785. However, there is nothing “old” about it. During my visit 13 years ago, I was impressed by how spotlessly clean the market was; everything gleamed—the food, the stalls, the floors, and even the vendors. I recall comparing it to grocery stores and pharmacies in Ontario at that time, and the market definitely came out on top.
