A qu... read more We are so lucky to have this fabulous pub as our local. When we say to anyone that we are from Lastingham they always tell us how great the Blacksmiths is. A quintessential English pub, with great food, very reasonably priced. They were kind enough to host a 60th birthday brunch for 14 of us the other day and did a superb job of it so I’m sure those staying in the rooms get fabulous breakfasts. We have a holiday cottage next door and our guests love visiting the pub. We are pleased they now allow dogs in the side bar as well as outside! Booking recommended though

All the staff incredibly polite and helpful.Stunning food, eaten just about the whole menu over the years. Proper real Ale beers. HOWEVER READ ON..... Recent disappointment was the presence of dogs inside the pub! Why????Always been outside only.!!No problem, NOT everyone likes dogs in eating areas or in the pub!! The pub has a lovely clientele and is busy enough without customers and staff trying to navigate around them all the time. We truly hope that this lovely pub sticks firm to its NO DOGS INSIDE POLICY Service: 5
