Reviews summary
At The Squirrel, patrons can find a vibrant atmosphere complemented by friendly and attentive staff. While the restaurant offers a range of appealing vegetarian and vegan dishes, availability can be inconsistent, particularly during busy hours. Diners have reported long wait times for food and occasional disappointments, such as undercooked items. Despite these setbacks, many guests appreciate the overall value and quality, especially during special occasions like Christmas dinners. With a lively ambience featuring sports on TV and a solid selection of beverages, The Squirrel remains a promising destination for those seeking casual dining experiences.

The food at this restaurant is delicious and the staff is friendly. The overall atmosphere is well maintained. The garden is lovely and perfect for enjoying a meal in the sunshine either on the terrace or in the garden itself.
Family Christmas dinner and excellent value for money. Nicely decorated table with crackers, Father Christmas hats etc. Good Christmas Turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Enjoyable.
Coming back from a business meeting I took the wrong turn. We were going to stop at a pub for lunch and saw the squirrel. What a find it was. Staff wee very friendly and welcoming and the food was to die for. I would definitely return and definitely recommend others to go. Thanks for a great meal guys.
Awesome atmosphere. Great pub food. Became our local for the week that we were in the area. Could watch the world cup rugby.
Me and my partner visited to have a roast dinner, I had roast turkey and he had a triple roast the food itself was lovely however the meat potions were rather small, his roast literally had one slice of each meat. Although they do offer unlimited roasties Yorkshire’s and gravy which we enjoyed.. and had a selection of sides I order from but I will say Tori provided perfect customer service so will be returning next time might order some pudding as they looked lovely

The pub was very loud with screaming children, big TV screens, and arcade games. Unfortunately, when we went there, all the vegan options were sold out because they were so busy. Disappointed, we decided to just have a drink and then leave. We have no plans to come back in the future.
Nice pub with a decent vegan range of mains and starters. The burger was very nice (less nice on second visit though a bit dry and a wait of over 40 minutes) and beetroot/cheese tart looked good. Good beer range too. The vegan dessert offering was poor with only one option. The chocolate torte was delicious but it was a shame no vegan ice cream was available to replace the dairy ice cream.
I had a good experience with booking at this restaurant and one of the staff members was incredibly friendly. However, I was disappointed to find that all of the vegan options were unavailable at 7pm on a Saturday evening. After purchasing drinks but having nothing to eat, my party had to leave. It seems that they had just hosted a large party, which may have contributed to the lack of available options, but I have my doubts. Additionally, we were charged for the drinks we didn't consume. As I was driving and wanted to have my drink with my meal, not on its own, this was especially frustrating.

We didn't eat, just had a drink. Nice beer at normal pub prices. Wasn't busy and we sat outside.
Found a nice pub within walking distance of The Aviator hotel. Very casual and family/kid friendly. Food and service was great.
Came here for dinner which was a mixed experience. After telling the bar staff I had a table reserved (you go to the bar, there's no wait to be seated sign etc) I was just pointed towards the table, I had to find it myself. To order you scan a qr code to access the menu, but no one mentioned this or ever came over to check. In the end I got lucky noticing it on a menu on a different table as it was missing from the one I was seated at. The table was near the slot machines which I felt an interesting choice as normally those things are kept apart. The tables are also close enough to the bar that when glasses are thrown into the collection you have that loud clanking quite frequently while eating. The majority of the food seemed of a pre packaged chain pub quality. I will however call out the lamb as being very well cooked.
Lovely pub, very busy, great service. Enjoyed the cheese board but it needs a few more crackers and better bar snack choices rather than all carbohydrate chips potatoes or breads.

The booking was good and one of the staff was very friendly. However, literally all vegan options were not available on Saturday night at 7:00, so we bought drinks, but with nothing to eat, we had to go. You just had a big party in, maybe that's why... but I doubt it. Worse yet, they accused us of the drinks, even though they don't drink them. (I drove and therefore wanted my drink with my meal and not alone)
This pub was loud with screaming children, large TV screens and game machines. At night we have all the vegan options were not available as they were busy. So we had a drink and left. We will not return.
I would give this place a 5-star rating if I could. The vegan options were very nice my favorites were the chip shop croquettes and the louisiana chick'n Burger. The staff was very nice and attentive to us and the food came out quickly. The only negative is that this pub is a bit above the price for what it is.
Beautiful pub with a decent vegan range of nets and starters. The burger was very nice (less nice at a second visit, although a bit dry and a waiting time of over 40 minutes) and Beetroot/Cheese tart looked good. Good beer. The vegan dessert offer was bad with just one option. The chocolate cake was delicious, but it was a shame that no vegan ice cream was available to replace the milk ice cream.
My boyfriend and I went for Sunday brunch and were really pleased with the vegetarian and vegan options (he was looking specifically for a vegetarian Sunday roast and was happy to find one! . I especially appreciated that they labeled the items that contained almonds (and not just nuts , since I’m allergic to them. It was pretty busy, unsurprisingly, and the wait for our food was -really- long. They told us that it would be about 40 minutes, but it ended up being over an hour. The food was pretty good when it finally arrived, but the portions weren’t very big. I think we would go back and try it again, but probably at a different time of day.
