We celebrated our 33rd anniversary there and enjoyed our favorite fried chicken as well as delicious shrimp and grits. The restaurant's unique layered chocolate pudding topped off the meal. Our server, Sahba, welcomed us warmly and made certain that our meal exceeded our expectations. We even received complimentary glasses of bubbly for our special toasts! We love this great restaurant and its wonderful staff.

My... read more We are here for a birthday dinner. We were with a decently large group (6), but the meal wasn’t fantastic like we had heard from others that it normally was. My steak was very tough and wasn’t seasoned the best. The pork chop was much better. We hada few appetizers, and the pulled pork crepe was really just a cold, soggy mess. The overall meal was okay. Probably not as greatas we would’ve enjoyed, but I think our late reservation time meant the kitchen was pre-closing and we just didn’t get thepeak output that an earlier reservation time would’ve received. The whiskey choices were great, and I enjoyed grabbing a bitof Midwinter Night’s Dram to end the evening. Overall the food was somewhere around a 3/5 for me at the price and expectationthat we had. The ambiance was a 5/5 and the service was a 4/5.

The area is very cute and the atmosphere within the restaurant is fantastic; not much parking but the valet will direct you to a private parking lot next door if it gets too busy. The food did not live upto my standards; the fried green tomatoes were too thick and the chicken salad pairing was odd; the fried chicken was not nearlyas flavorful as I expected; the shrimp and grits were adequate and I was happy to have an option of a tomato cream sauce or acreole gravy. The Mac and cheese was really good though! The alcoholic beverage specials were very disappointing, the strawberryfields was bitter with a hint of sweetness that just didn’t make sense; I hated the mocktail my waitress reccomended, butsince I didn’t really drink any she offered to take it off the bill, which is nice. Since this is a restaurant in an old homethere is not much seating and it is pretty cramped, so I highly recommend getting a reservation if you plan to go.
