Pier101 has emerged as a cherished seafood eatery, combining a lively atmosphere with a diverse menu that appeals to many palates. Diners rave about their crab cakes, praised as the best in the DFW area, alongside perfectly cooked catfish, hush puppies, and delicious gumbo. While views on the snow crab and shrimp sizes vary, many appreciate the authenticity of their Southern-inspired offerings, including flavorful crab fingers and delectable desserts like banana bread pudding and key lime pie. With attentive service and cozy vibes, it's clear that Pier101 is dedicated to creating memorable dining experiences that keep customers coming back.
The food was alright, but for a fish restaurant I was disappointed that they don't have ketchup on all the tables like all of the other fish restaurants I've been to. I ordered the catfish and fries, for me, that requires a lot of ketchup, they only brought me two little things of ketchup. So I asked if they could bring me a bottle of ketchup, and I was told no, that they only have one bottle of ketchup, so they brought me a bowl half full of ketchup. I though that was very odd. Just buy some table top ketchup bottles like other restaurants do!
First time trying this place out. I love crab cakes and it’s tough even finding a seafood restaurant that serves them as an actual entree meal. And then when I do find a place, I go there and they tell me they are out. Well, not here! They had my crab cakes and they were hands down the best crab cakes I have had in DFW! Next time I may order a side or rice with it which they do have. Also, the hush puppies were great as well. Some seafood restaurants make them so small and their full of grease. Again, not here! They were perfection here! Right size and favorable with no grease! We got the banana bread pudding to go (too full to eat it there). Haven’t tried it yet but I’m sure it will not disappoint. Also the Cadillac Margarita was great as well. Hats off to the chef and cooks in the kitchen. The wait staff was great as well. We definitely will be back!
Absolutely delicious everything from Cole slaw to hush puppies and catfish. Crab cakes yummy. Would have gotten 5 stars except for nail sticking out of the booth that stuck my dinner companion. No harm done and didn't ruin his leather coat.
Was recommended to visit this place for good seafood since my family is new to the area. Overall the menu was pretty good. A nice mix of fried seafood and fresh seafood along with gumbo?s. I tried the Crab Fingers for $20 and it was actually a reallygood deal. They were seasoned welled, served in a butter bowl and came with plenty of fingers. Never had a dish like thisbefore, very unique. Perfect for when you want a taste of crab but don?t want to do the whole boil and deal with the mess.Cornbread was authentic and good. Hot coco was delicious. No complaints. It was a cozy place and very lively. I would come backplenty of times.
Very popular perhaps owing to limited choices in the area. Service was good. The food had little in the way of wanting a deja vu. The oysters reflected the changing times in the industry anything smaller would probably have never been harvested. Theclam chowder did indeed have a hint of clam but the salinity was probably intentional. The crab cakes were done well as were thetacos. The blackened salmon was saved by the fact that it was wild. The grilled redfish had the telltale grill pattern but nodark markings. Presumably those are limited to deep water seafood.
