Mod Pizza - Rockwall
Mod Pizza
Description
At the Rockwall Mod Pizza, the build‑your‑own concept excels: fast, consistent service produces customizable, individual pies—standout cauliflower and gluten‑free crusts—baked to order in 10–15 minutes. Great value, rotating beers on tap and family-friendly flexibility make it a local gem. Recent improvements in bussing and staff attentiveness lift the experience, though the menu has some limits (no fresh mozzarella or garlic sauce) and occasional clean‑up or beverage lapses remind diners expectations can vary.

Four and a half stars! The selection of pizza options is truly remarkable and of excellent quality. As you would expect from the name, you can customize your pizza in many ways without any extra charge (or so I've been told). So, what accounts for the half-star deduction? Two words: garlic sauce. Unfortunately, due to issues with their oven caused by the garlic sauce, they no longer offer it. What a letdown! However, you can still ask for minced garlic to add to your pizza. While it's not as convenient, it's probably healthier and nearly just as flavorful. I would definitely return to this place!
Amazing team and tasty pizza! I especially love the cauliflower pizza. On my last visit, they mixed up my order, but they quickly fixed it and even gave me an extra pizza without me noticing. It was a delightful surprise!
The gluten-free cauliflower crust pizza at Mod Pizza was simply amazing! The experience is reminiscent of a mix between Papa Murphy's and Chipotle, where you can customize your own personal-sized pizza by choosing your toppings as you move along the line. The best part is that, unlike Papa Murphy's, they bake it right there on the spot. You can opt to dine in or take it out, and it only takes about 10-15 minutes—very quick! I really appreciate their concept, and the pizza is outstanding! I highly recommend it, and we will definitely be back for more!
Man this place is the king of individual pies. I have a great experience every single time. Unique (to me) concept of unlimited toppings. My fat self takes full advantage of that! Beer on tap is always fresh and rotating. A rating Brickz Reviews
Update: big improvements since they opened. They no longer look at me like I’m crazy when I ask for spinach on my pizza. And they are better about bussing tables. Glad to see they’ve gotten better. Meh. MOD's version of the build your own pizza just didn't work for me as well as others (Blaze being my favorite). The pizza itself is fine, but the topping selection leaves much to be desired. They don't have fresh mozerella, shredded only. They do have a few other cheese options (ricotta, Parmesan) but fresh mozzarella is a must imo. I asked for spinach on my pizza, and the guy looked at me like I was crazy. They also only have one red sauce. There's no spicy version (like at Blaze) and the sauce wasn't particularly flavorful imo. They offer a white sauce that I didn't try. My kids love it because they can build there own simple pizza. But I was underwhelmed. On top of the lack of topping selections, the place was just a mess. It wasn't even that busy, but they were out of sweet tea the entire time of our visit (which I informed them about) and we went to four tables before finding a clean one. They really need a busser full time to keep tables cleared and clean. I realize patrons are asked to clear their own table, but having a busser to insure this happens and tables stay clean would really be great. It's definitely a good place to visit for families. The pizza was not bad, and I like that they have different crust options (like cauliflower and gf). But a few weeks into being opened, and this location is still obviously struggling with efficiency. That combined with the lack of toppings equated to my 3 star, meh, rating.
