Sails at Robe

We (3) were driving from Adelaide to Melbourne and we were advised to stop at Robe, a little town famous for its lobsters. Because we got there quite late

YUM YUM YUM!!! On our recent holiday we stopped in at Robe.

We were lucky enough to get a reservation at Sails a few weeks back.

We were here for one night and this was the only restaurant that seemed to have anyone in it. My wife and I both had whiting. It was nice, nothing wrong, but I could have cooked it. We had just come out of Perth and Adelaide and we paid more here for a main course than we had in either of these cities, and we ate there in some decent restaurants. The fish was fine but it was just grilled fish, a bit dry, served on a cold plate with some salad and chips. The white wine was warmer than the plate. The waitress who served us was nice.

The kitchen stayed open for us for an extra half an hour as we were running late on route from KI, which was greatly appreciated. The service once we arrived was very good. The meal however was disappointing. The 'Beef and Reef' at $44 was expensive with two small prawns. The $26 'Flake, salad and chips' was a plate of chips with two ordinary pieces of fish and small side dish of salad. Basic fish and chips, with the emphasis on chips. The kids enjoyed their kids serving of Spaghetti Bolognaise.
