What User dislikes about Robe Store:
I like my coffee so made the effort to call in.Place is quaint, $17 for a sausage roll is abit rich, was nice but wouldn't have again. If we're in the area again, don't think I'd stop in View all feedback.

In response to your reply to my husbands review, to my anaphylactic experience in your cafe (review is located under ROBE STORE .... It was a very poor and disappointing response to say the least. Stating that it is the person who has the allergy to manage and no one else 's is an absolute cop out. Your reply also states that you have now placed a sign on your food cabinet stating, we process meat, seafood, nuts, dairy products in our kitchen and use a common deep fryer . This is equally inadequate. Your business should be fully aware of the legal requirements around declaring allergens, and also must be compliant with the FSANZ, Food Safety Standards legislation, as set out in Section 1, Schedule 9 of the Food Standards Code. These stands are not something new, they have been around for many years. Guidelines were tightened and became effective on 25 February 2024. It clearly states that food not required to bear a label, such as your cafes ' cold case display cabinet, that declarations must be displayed in connection with the food. In bold font, beginning with the word contains followed by the allergens. The list includes wheat, fish, crustaceans, molluscs, egg, milk, lupin, PEANUT, soy, soya, soy beans, sesame, ALMONDS, Brazil nut, macadam, pecan, pistachio, pine nut, walnut, barley, oats rye. I can assure you that your cafe in grossly non compliant and more concerning, you are trying to lay blame on the customer in your response to my husbands feedback. Your staff member, when asked if there were any form of nuts in the Mars Bar Slice, stated he didn 't think so. I said can you check please as I immediately began to have anaphylactic symptoms, explained this to him, and told him that this was serious, that I was having an anaphylactic reaction and needed to know the contents. He said he didn 't know again, so I asked him to check with the manager. He checked with the kitchen, who said they didn 't know and would look for the packaging in the bin because it was the only item in the case that was not made on the premises. It took some time for him to respond with it having several nuts that I am anaphylactic to in the ingredients. I might add that, I had the most minute bite of the slice and realised immediately that it was riddled with various nuts and came to report it to staff members immediately for assistance. My husband is well trained and was able to manage my reaction with my Epipen upon departing the cafe, and I am thankul he was there to manage the situation. My main concern is that the staff had no idea of the seriousness of the situation. They did not offer me any form of first aid assistance, didn 't ask if I were okay, and didn 't ask if I required an ambulance, or any form of help. Yes you are right though, the female staff member was greatly concerned...... about giving me a refund, not how I was, and they did refund the cost of the slice, and the only time coming to see me was to point out they had refunded the $7.50 back into my bank account, but not the rest of the order that I was unable to consume due to my throat and tongue being swollen, and not being able to swallow. Amazingly prioritised. Your staff x 2 members had no idea of the contents, or the education/training regarding allergens, which comes back to poor management. You need to educate your staff and get up to date with safe food practices before you have the unfortunate event of someone dying in your store. You never blame a customer for a misfortuneate event like this. You offer assistance for first aid care and an apologise. We all make mistakes, but own it. On another note, I always go a Mars bar slice if available, as I have never had one with nuts in the recipe.... lesson learned on my part. As someone with an allergy, it is most certainly my responsibility to ask if in doubt, inwhich I did, but it is also the law for you to display this information. ZERO stars for your food and service! Dietary restrictions: Simply, do NOT eat at this Cafe if you have food allergies!
