Description
A welcoming, attentive staff and standout servers lift what can be an uneven dining experience. Wine-paired dinners, allergy accommodations, and a generally clean, upbeat interior draw praise.
Food and menu reliability are inconsistent: some dishes arrive undercooked or missing expected elements, popular items can be unavailable, and added fees for small extras make visits feel pricey. Expect warm service but variable kitchen performance and occasional management lapses.

The food is wonderful and made from scratch, featuring great flavors and impressive presentation. I highly recommend this restaurant!
We enjoyed the three-course meal with wine pairings for each course. Our server, Elijah, was outstanding. He offered excellent customer service and shared knowledgeable insights about the wines and their pairings with our salad, main dish, and dessert. We left feeling very satisfied and will definitely come back.
They are very stingy! Charging $2.99 for an extra tiny container of salad dressing? After spending $16.00 on two sandwiches, each with a small salad, plus beers, you would think they would be willing to accommodate us to encourage our return. What if I didn't like the dressing they suggested? Despite this, we will continue to visit and enjoy the Ripon Road House, where Marcus is a gem. Las Consuelas, Brothers, Pizza Plus, and all the restaurants near SaveMart should take note—taste is important, but customer service is even more crucial. We won't be recommending this place and won’t be coming back.
We visited this restaurant for the first time, drawn in by their Yelp reviews highlighting the mimosa flights. Unfortunately, we discovered they no longer offer those, which was quite disappointing. The brunch menu was somewhat limited, and it struck us as odd that every brunch dish came with a side salad. While the food was tasty, we found it to be on the pricier side—our total for three people was around $106. On a positive note, the overall service was good.
To make matters worse, we ordered loaded tater tots as an appetizer, but after waiting 10 minutes, the server informed us they were out of tater tots and could substitute baby potatoes instead. We didn’t complain, but when the dish arrived, the baby potatoes were incredibly undercooked—seriously, they were snapping when we bit into them. Quite disappointing overall. I’m giving this place 2 stars solely for our server, who was attentive and pleasant, although his food recommendations missed the mark. At least the ice cream emporium across the street saved the evening, as we left Matter of Taste still hungry. Five stars to the ice cream emporium for satisfying our cravings! Back to the drawing board, MoT.
