Great stop for home cooked food. Even though it was busy, we were quickly seated. Ordered the tri tip dip, based on server’s recommendation, and it was tasty. Minestrone soup was flavorful and full of vegetables get a bowl to enjoy as the cup is too small. The decor is cute country bear with wooden log bar stools. They make their own hot sauce and steak sauce. All are worth a try. View all feedback.
What Yesenia Schoen doesn't like about Black Bear Diner:
I was disappointed with the service provided. The sausage was undercooked and there was an issue with a menu item that was for breakfast but the wait staff said it was not available till lunch. Miscommunication left us poorly satisfied l. We have to other Back Bear Diners including those in AZ and CO. But this Redding is the worst. The Redding location was one of the first Black Bear Diners to open back in the day. H... View all feedback.
This restaurant is the perfect spot to unwind after a long day of exploring. The service was quick and the staff were friendly. The clean restroom was definitely a bonus. I would definitely consider visiting again.
The server was highly attentive and friendly and the fresh squeezed orange juice was delightful! The portion size was fantastic for the price. Absolutely no complaints.
I had a great experience at Black Bear Diner in Redding. Despite the cold and wet weather, I found it to be a warm and welcoming place with consistently good food for dinner. I ordered the '2 Egg Classic Combo' breakfast plate, which included diced mild Italian sausage patty, biscuit, fruit, and decaf coffee. The waitress promptly made a fresh pot of decaf, brought out the hot and well-prepared breakfast, and the butter melted quickly on the fluffy biscuits. The selection of fruit was just right. The waitress was busy but still attentive, and the atmosphere among the staff was genuine and welcoming. I highly recommend Black Bear Diner every time.
Dinner here and everything was great. Portions of food were large and prices are very reasonable. Our waitress was so sweet and we enjoyed talking to her. I can't remember her name, but she just lost her cat and we shared cat stories. What a nice lady. We will definitely eat again at Black Bear. Thanks for a great meal.
