Description

The dining scene in Henley presents a mixed bag of experiences. While some establishments shine with cozy atmospheres and attentive service, others fall short with subpar food and long waits. Diners express frustrations over cold plates, lackluster flavors, and overpriced dishes. However, several reviewers highlight memorable meals featuring fresh ingredients and enjoyable seafood, particularly at the Three Tuns, known for its inviting pub vibe and friendly staff. Groups seeking a cozy setting for events find success in private dining options, reinforcing the overall potential of Henley’s culinary landscape, though not without notable inconsistencies in quality and service.

We visited after a terrible experience down the road in another Henley Pub. The Tuns renewed our faith in Henley pubs and restaurants. Lovely staff found us a table and we dined like lords. Beautiful food, good value for money and great selection of beer and wines. Highly recommend.

I arranged a dinner for around 20 people and we booked the Boatshed located behind the pub. It was a great space, complete with its own bar and a cozy wood burner to keep us warm. Pre-ordering our meals and settling the bill at the end was quick and easy. Our food was all served on time and labeled correctly, avoiding any confusion. The evening went off without a hitch and everyone enjoyed their meal. I would definitely consider booking the Three Tuns Boatshed again in the future.

We arrived to a very busy pub, fire was on and it was a good atmosphere. We had a drink in the bar then went through to our table. This wasn’t as cosy, in fact we felt cold, they had a fire but it was gas, and didn’t produce any heat. We were sat at a table near a door that ran down an alley to the toilets, which was open to the elements. I ordered the Brie for my starter, it was nice with cranberry sauce. For my main I had the beef ravioli, was very tasty. All of the meals are very small and for the price, feel you should have more for your money. My husband had the fish and chips, the fish was ok, but his chips were under cooked. The staff were friendly, could have been more attentive when it came to offering drinks, we were sat for along time with empty glasses and had to go to the bar. Will we return, probably not for food.

Went there for a lunchtime meal. Booked as I thought it might be busy on a Saturday and it was. I had wild boar sausages and mustard mash. My partner had the burger. Both extremely good. Service very good. Brakspear's Beer nice too, as were the deserts.

We ate Sunday lunch here today and the staff were very personable even though they were very busy. I had the beef which was like sirloin steak and my wife had the chicken Sunday lunch and both were very good. I don’t eat Coliflour cheese but my wife said it’s the best she had had. We will be going back here for more food and drink
