What Gene Bernhard doesn't like about Java:
We had Java for dinner tonight to brighten up an otherwise dreary locked down day. What a treat! The beef rendang and ayam goreng were so delicious! I can’t wait to be able to dine in soon as Java has to be Sydney’s friendliest restaurant!Would recommend as a lockdown meal, and definitely as a dine in experience when we are allowed to again! View all feedback. What Delilah Stroman likes about Java:
An institution in the Randwick dining scene. This venerable institution has been plating up tasty Indo cuisine for many years. You can put out the sambal-generated fire with a jasmine tea popper. Standout dishes are the nasi rames and the ayam done any number of ways. View all feedback.

read moreJava is a bright spot in Sydney's restaurant scene, offering delicious Indonesian cuisine that is sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. From comforting dishes like the chicken opor ayam to the well-cooked ikan pepes, the food here is top-notch. The beef rendang is delicate with just the right amount of chili kick, and the otak otak is a must-try. If you have room for dessert, the durian ice cream and teler are a perfect sweet ending to your meal. The service is excellent, the atmosphere relaxed, and the portion sizes generous. In business for over 30 years, Java has stood the test of time by consistently delivering great food and service. Whether you are a first-timer or a regular, Java is sure to impress with its extensive menu and friendly staff. Just be sure to make a reservation, especially on weekends when this popular spot fills up quickly.
