A small sailboat, fun and clean, is a charming restaurant and rich food, you can look at the kitchen and its staff is very attentive, the chef also explains in English and guides you in the gastronomy, the restaurant is a jewel in Quito. Despite being alone, I felt calm.
I always like to try the seafood when I am near the sea and was not disappointed. With the lobster you have a choice of 4 different salsas that the lobster is cooked in. We weren't sure so picked one. I would have actually preferred just butter. The food theme is de Espana or Spain Spanish. You might ask to try a taste of each salsa before committing. Large wine selection. Great mojito with lots of mint and rum flavor. We were seated right next to bathroom although there were other options. Overall a nice restaurant
On a business trip to Quito and found this charming little restaurant. We were immediately greeted by the chef/owner, Cristian, and he explained his menu while he poured our wine. The food was outstanding and full of flavor! I had the octopus and my colleague had a fish dish. I will definitely go back to Maitane on my next trip to Quito; It is a hidden gem.
The love shown in every detail identifies Maitane as a restaurant with a great family atmosphere, elegant and welcoming where exquisite Spanish and Mediterranean dishes are prepared with various Ecuadorian products whose flavors, colors, quality and presentations make us creative to forge a work of art in each dish we offer. The Chef Cristian Arroba, I am an Ecuadorian cook, professional in two races: Hotelería and Gastronomy, the passion for cooking began when I was a child and is my greatest source of inspiration when creating dishes full of flavors and colors to give unforgettable moments to my diners. In my life as in the kitchen I seek to turn my dreams into reality, the act of cooking represents for me an act of love and respect for others.
