Pacari - Quito

I had nothing but Gelato in Ecuador until I found this place! The ice is really good (although the waffle cone is unfortunately not vegan). All Pacari chocolate is vegan, organic, sustainable and fairtrade, and there are many flavors to take home. They also make coffee and hot chocolate with vegetable milk! The café also sells desserts like cakes, although these unfortunately contain milk or eggs.

I inquired about the vegan waffle but unfortunately, it was not available so I ended up getting two scoops of ice cream and a smoothie instead. The smoothie was decent and the ice cream was good, although I had requested a sample of hazelnut and chocolate flavors and only received a small amount of chocolate. Despite the slow service, there is a shop with a wide selection of vegan chocolates. The Ecuadorean chocolate they offer is possibly the best in the world and the brand they carry is absolutely delicious.
