The Jar - Queens
The Jar
Description
The Jar Bar, a beloved local dive, combines an inviting backyard patio with laid-back charm and decent drink specials, like beer and shot deals. The atmosphere is relaxed, featuring a pool table, jukebox, and arcade games. However, service can be hit-or-miss, depending on the bartender's attitude. While some patrons have enjoyed friendly interactions and a sense of community, others have faced rudeness from the owner regarding food policies. Overall, it's a unique spot for socializing, especially in groups, though potential visitors should be prepared for varying service experiences.

Incredible dipping with great vibes, affordable drinks and a welcoming atmosphere. great court and they could be happy enough to serve by the owner, jason, who is very good. protect this business!
I have been in the neighborhood for years and have got to say the owner of Jar Bar, Jason, is an amazing and friendly bartender. He runs his establishment with an old school neighborhood bar feel and it's amazing to have right here in the area. Plus backyard seating! Pool Table! Darts?? Chill vibe.
A strong dive bar with good drink deals, a pool table and a welcoming bartender. But it definitely feels like a place where the owner's friends hang out but not many others. Granted, we went around 8 on a Friday, so not exactly peak hours. We were the only non-owner's-group patrons. The group there wasn't hostile in any way, but it made us feel very out of place. (I was also the only female in the bar) The bartender was very funny and chatty and the beer was good. I probably won't come here again alone or as just a pair, though with a good group in tow this could be a great place to hang out.
Absolutely love this place shot and a jar $6 ask for Allison she is hands-down, the number one bartender in the world Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
They have a deal with the Bolivian place where you can take your food there. We did that, and we informed the bartender. This person didn 't say anything but just nodded. He then came over and asked us if we wanted something. We told him we didn 't know what to get yet. Next thing the owner comes by and starts talking to us in a disrespectful manner for 3 minutes saying that we have to buy something because we have food and it 's warm inside. What he was saying was understandable but his attitude was unnecessary and what made it worst was when he said that we could buy something or go out in the cold. Basically threatening us without even giving us a chance to do what was required. This could have all been avoided by training his bar staff better so they could tell people coming with food from the Bolivian place that they would need to buy a drink right off the bat. If he wanted to make things clear then he could have approached us in a respectful manner instead of being disrespectful. He could have just said, Hi, just so you guys know. I will need you guys to get drinks since you have food from the Bolivian place. That 's it. End of story. But he chose to approach us with a rude and disrespectful attitude. I won 't be going back and I don 't recommend this place to anyone
