The restaurant has received mixed reviews, with some customers experiencing negative situations such as orders being canceled last minute and rude waitstaff. However, many have praised the food quality, friendly service, and ambiance. Dishes such as the banana bread, patty melt, and steak were highlighted as delicious. While some found the portions small or the service lacking, others enjoyed the agricultural-to-table experience and the seasonal menu. I have been to Communal a few times and this most recent time was probably the least impressive to me. I am not sure if I was more unimpressed with the customer service. One of the servers was not friendly. I would rate the customer service between a 2-3stars since he was not welcoming and did not smile. The food was decent but the pork was a little dry. The flavor was reallygreat. I did not get a picture of asparagus but that was very delicious. However, the portion sizes for the asparagus was sosmall. The meat from Chinese buns was a little dry and the buns were extremely chewy. I would not recommend the Chinese buns.
What a mouthwatering treat for your taste buds! Communal restaurant is a flavorful experience. Please note the menu is seasonal and changes. My wife and I ordered one starter, protein, starch and vegetable dish and split them. It was plenty of food. We gotthe bao buns which was my favorite thing. Flank steak, fingerling potatoes and asparagus. Everything was fancy tasty. Theservice was great and it was a wonderful experience.
Heard so many good things about this place from foodie friends and it did not disappoint! This is a true farm to table dining experience! Loved the ambiance: small, exclusive, quaint, and just lovely. We were warmly greeted by the host, and seated atthe best table there was (we did have reservations on a Saturday night). Our server was personable and just really down toearth, heard his recommendations and they were spot on. Ordered the meat and cheese platter for starters. The steak wasprobably one of the best steaks we've had in a while. The trout dish was lovely slight crisp on the skin side and soft andflaky on the top. Normally I do not like to consume fish skin, but it was slightly crispy and had so much flavor that I did notmind it and cleaned the plate! The chorizo cornbread dish was to die for and was a fantastic choice. Overall, it was awonderful first time experience! Can't wait to go back.
The food was remarkably delicious! They just opened recently to offering brunch Mon -Fri and not just Saturday. Such a great menu for breakfast! We had a Hash Root bowl, biscuits and Sage gravy , and a coconut milk, chia pudding with pineapple andcooked coconut flakes. I split mine with my significant other and it was perfect. Even another person could have filled up theirbelly on the generous amounts. This place though is definitely the taste you get with quality over quantity.! If you want aclassy, sophisticated place to dine, with delicious savoring food, come to The Commune!!! So glad I did!
AMAZING! My husband and I came for a date night, and were so impressed. From start to finish, the service was stellar. Food was next level. We were lucky enough to sit next to the chefs, and watch the whole process. The staff took the time to talk with us,and answer all our questions. There was not a single thing we ate that we did not love. I can’t say enough good things aboutour experience and the food. We are definitely going to be back soon.
