Grove
Description
The revamped Grove/Dancing Moose restaurant offers an uneven dining experience. While some find its casual ambiance and laid-back staff charming, others are put off by lackluster customer service and mediocre food. Despite these inconsistencies, The Grove/Dancing Moose is a popular spot for weekend hangouts, with a varied menu of quality meals at reasonable prices. Brunch at The Grove is particularly highlighted, with its best-in-class selection and pleasant air-conditioned atmosphere. Overall, customer interactions can make or break a meal at The Grove/Dancing Moose, but those willing to overlook spotty service can enjoy a satisfying meal at this local gem.

One of the best experiences I have had for going out for an early evening drink. We were greeted with a lovely Aussie chap with a big smile and served at the bar by Liam. The service was fantastic and Aussie made us aware of...the food deals for that evening and convinced us to have a meal. The atmosphere was lovely and we noticed that the two staff were very attentive to their customers and any issues the happened to the customers! Very commendable of them! We will definitely return as the staff were lovely and well mannered and well experienced, and the food was fantastic!
I visited The Grove restaurant back in September and was delighted with the food and service I received. On my second visit last weekend, I was initially concerned when I saw the name had changed to Dancing Moose, fearing there may be new owners, chefs, and staff. However, everything was the same and my experience was just as good, if not better than before! A friendly young lady greeted me warmly and went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed, even providing a water bowl for my dog. The drinks did take a bit longer to arrive due to the busy café, but when my food arrived, it was absolutely delicious. The new menu had a Christmas theme, which I thought was fantastic. The Dancing Moose is simply brilliant!
This little cafe is definately a little gem. The ambiance and friendly service is really impeccable. On my first visit, I was passing by and thought I would just pop In For a coffee and ended up staying for the best full English I've ever...had! On walking in, I recieved a warm smile and a hello from the girl behind the counter and was quickly taken care of and sat down with the best coffee I've had In A long time. The ambiance of the place is so lovely, looking over Ashley cross green, with calm music playing gently over the sound system, it made me feel completely at ease and could have easily stayed all afternoon with a good book. Sadly I couldnt stay for lunch, but I have vowed to come back and impress my friends with this little find, as I was far too tempted by the meals being taken to other tables and I'm sure we will definately be in for cocktails at the weekend!
I really enjoy dining at The Grove. After trying all the breakfast bars in the area for two years, I can confidently say that The Grove has the best selection, the most delicious cooked breakfast, and the most pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant is air conditioned and there are no cooking smells, making for a comfortable dining experience. I have brought visitors to The Grove and they all agree that it is top-notch. However, the one downside of The Grove is the staff. Despite the amazing food and ambiance, the service can be lacking. The staff often make mistakes, have a bad attitude, and seem uninterested in serving customers. Out of all my visits, only two times have I received acceptable service. There was even one instance where the service was so poor that I almost walked out. Despite this, if you can overlook the less-than-ideal staff, the delicious breakfast at The Grove is definitely worth it.
The worst experience I have ever had of going out for an early evening drink. The unwelcoming, rude, bad attitude and know it all member of staff was a put off from the moment we started to order. It got worse from then on. Why...do bars employ inexperienced staff who clearly want to be somewhere else other than serving customers? Wearing a woolly hat whilst working and calling customers mate is not what I expect from this sort of establishment. It gives out mixed and confusing messages about the type of clientele they're trying to attract. We will certainly not be revisiting!
