The Cliff - Poole
The Cliff
Description
The restaurant boasts a charming atmosphere with attentive staff, creating a pleasant dining experience. While some dishes, like the roast dinners, occasionally fall flat with flavor, others shine, particularly the desserts, which receive high praise. However, inconsistency in food quality is a concern, with processed items and undercooked vegetables blemishing the menu. The service remains a highlight, with staff members often going above and beyond, making them a pleasure to interact with. Overall, while there are areas for improvement, the establishment is a fitting choice for those seeking an enjoyable, albeit occasionally uneven, meal in a welcoming setting.

Had a very nice evening with family. The only comment i'd make today (i've eaten here many times) is that tables near fire exit doors with metal tops are too small for 4 and that the area could be improved. We were sitting on top of doors and apart from sitting outside toilets are the worst tables. All tables and areas should have same ambience and a customer should not have to stipulate where to sit (or not).
Half term so unfortunately crying baby, so not the fault of the Cliffe.Very good service, attentive but not overpowering and food delicious.
Had a lovely meal at The Cliff this evening, service was impeccable from Gaby. The food was cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere in a tastefully decorated restaurant.
As new customers, we went for what we thought was the safest option: a burger. We were dissapointed to see that the burgers looked like something out of a Tesco packet, processed looking and perfectly formed (not homemade). When we asked our waitress to confirm this, she confirmed that the patties were brought-in. This was dissapointing and so was the burger. The chips were nice as was the staff, but if this is what the humble burger tastes like, I can only imagine what the sea bass would be like?
