Give this place a try! It’s beautifully maintained and decorated. The seating is comfortable and spacious. We didn’t have to wait on a Saturday night but full disclosure: we ate frightfully early (before 5:30 pm). The staff is professional and courteous and the dishes were well-plated, tasty, and fairly priced. The only suggestion I would have is add a few more vegetarian options (at least offer vegetarian rice) but... View all feedback.
What Art Toth doesn't like about Tocayo Taqueria:
We ordered the shrimp and steak fajitas. The shrimp were tasty, but the steak was a bit tough and we felt that there wasn't enough considering the price. It was disappointing that they didn't serve a basket of chips and salsa to everyone, as this is the second Mexican restaurant we've been to that did not offer this. We believe that customers should at least have the opportunity to try the salsa before deciding if th... View all feedback.
Open on Mondays! We stopped in at 7PM and the hostess was very welcoming and seated us without any wait. The dining room was comfortable and nicely decorated. Our waiter brought us water and took our drink orders within minutes of being seated. Blood Orange Margarita was delicious. Drowned Burrito with Chicken and Chorizo, excellent and the portion was enough to share. Finished with the lava cake and coffee which were both great. Wait staff was always attentive. By 8PM the dining room had become quite full. Family friendly but only a few children. Good date night spot.Kid-friendliness: Noticed a few kids from infant to tween.
Had their cauliflower and portobello taco which was very good but too small to satisfy one person with normal appetite. Service was very slow and when asked to replace sour cream with guacamole, they said small upcharge and then just gave a side of guac for $6. Margarita was also too pricey for the amount provided.
Good place to try out Mexican food. Good service. Dinner time can get a little busy hence dining-in could be noisy and crowded. Limited space- reservation is recommended.
One of the best places for tacos in Pittsburgh, if not the best! Need to add Saviche on the menu to be 10 out of 10.
The lunch menu is an incredible value. The tacos are small but piled high with meat and fresh fruits and veggies. Great summery citrus flavors and quick service.
