I absolutely love this restaurant on the south side! In my opinion, it's the most underrated eatery around. The food is consistently delicious, though it can be a bit pricey. The staff is extremely friendly, making it a great neighborhood spot. I highly recommend trying their egg rolls! View all feedback.
What Kelsi Biondo doesn't like about Tad's On E. Carson:
It would have been a 2-star review if the food hadn't been so good! Our server didn't have answers to any of our menu questions, and when she brought our drinks, she mentioned that they could be mixed up because she couldn't tell the difference. Honestly, I should have just gone with a Chipotle-style order; I probably would have received better service and had my questions answered! View all feedback.
Cool concept! Loved that there are local street names on the tables and the table by the window even had a traffic light fixture which was cool.Felt like a decent start up still working through some kinks. Staff was kind enough to comp the japchae we ordered when we commented that it wasn't actually japchae...The steamed buns and the Angus di pomodoro flatbread were both quite tasty. Loved the cauliflower with sweet red peppers also (the saltiness made for good pairing with the other items we ordered)My ginger spritz was delicious and refreshing and my fiance had the Route 66 cocktail (root beer and whiskey).Would definitely try it again
Unique and tasty cocktails and a food menu that literally takes you around the world. Visited here while in town for a conference and I'm so glad I did. Many of the restaurants in the Carson Street area are basically dives (think college town/cheap drinks vibe). This one is many levels above that.Food: 5/5
Fun and funky joint with interesting art and great happy hour specials. Must try the potato tornado while they have it. The menu is constantly changing but the food is on point!Food: 5/5
Good but not great. Friendly staff, cute vibes, the food was ok, could have been better. The chopped cheese: too many veggies, too much bun, and not enough cheeseThe potato tornado: This is a dish served on the street and at festivals, I've had it before and when it's done right there IS no sharing because it's too good to share. To me, it was hard potatoes and the curry powder was just too much dry dust and should've been better incorporated into the dish. The potato could've used a soak and pre-fry and it would've been less starchy and crispier and awesome. My friend liked his dirty martini. My wine, granted it was Sunday afternoon, felt like the dregs at the bottom of the bottle.
One of the best spots in the south side. If ya haven't been there you gotta go. The art and ambience is second only to the food.Food: 5/5
