Leaving this review specifically because the guy with the teddy bear tattoo who works there is the best. Last night it was POURING. Like, biggest storm with most torrential downpour I’ve seen in years. But this dude ran out into the rain to put the umbrellas down and did it with a smile on his face. No attitude at all. What Lera McKenzie doesn't like about Revel – Revel+Roost:
The food was disgusting, we returned 6 out of 7 appetizers that were served to us. The poor quality meat is poorly cooked and has a bad taste. They calculated every last cent of the bill. Shame should give them the lousy customer service and the lousy quality of the food with the years they have on the market !!!!! I will never return and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. Roost is no longer open except for private events. So, well done, I'm sending a question when I don't even go. I had a reservation and was not informed by open table or by restaurant itself. I called roost himself to confirm some days before and was told that they are now only doing private events. When I asked why I was not informed, the person I also spoke was not all apologetic and was dismissed. they said: “Well, I mean, we thought that open table is going beyond reservations, but...umm I don’t think so.” roost was a great restaurant and we loved to go there. I do not like revel, it is not the same ambiente for a nice dinner, it is a bar with tvs on. very disappointing. roost: terrible job on their employees phone / communication skills. open table: maybe not your fault, as it seems roost does not participate, but disappointing that I thought I had a reservation if I didn't.
The experience at roost has far exceeded our expectations! although it was a Monday evening and the restaurant (as most in pittsburgh) had little diner, we were treated with an almost private ambiente with perfect attentive service by ryan. the menu and weelist is perfect for great pairings and my wife and I both went for the double chop that was incredible. perfectly cooked and supplied with a hot cellars 2014 cab pairing. my appetizer was the burrata board that was a perfect prelude for the escape. the gentle jazz background music and window seats made it an excellent evening with my wife. note: be prepared- the double-cop is a lot of food, but oh so good. we are looking forward to eating here again and eating through the menu!
A friend and I had an excellent dinner at roost. our server bob was very attentive and answered all the questions we had about all the menu items offered. we will definitely come back.
We celebrated our jubilee. the restaurant was not busy so the service was great! the food was very delicious!
Drinks and food were great! We had a martini and margarita. We tried the scallop appetizer, octopus and tuna. All were good. A bit pricey. Server was helpful with suggestions
