Was Elaine F at Plated a mag?
We just had the absolute best brunch-luncheon at Plated. The decor is fresh, modern and bright. The servers were very attentive and quick. The food presentation was so beautiful I could have looked at it for an hour but I was too hungry to wait. Everything was delicious. Dessert was made from scratch angel food cake over a a fresh strawberry sauce served with individual French press coffee. I can't wait to go back an... View all feedback.
What John Monaco dislikes about Plated:
The restaurant stated it was open, and there was no information on Google indicating otherwise. However, when we arrived, it was completely empty and there was no explanation given. I will update this review once I find out what happened. View all feedback.

The food was absolutely outstanding, and everything on the menu looked irresistible. My main course— a special of the day with two generous seafood cakes filled with scallops, crab, and shrimp—was more than enough to satisfy my appetite. However, I couldn't resist indulging in dessert, especially with the tempting blackberry cabernet sorbet on offer. It certainly lived up to my high expectations. My friend's gingerbread cake was also delightful.
We used to visit this place often when it was Slate Bistro, so we decided to check out the new Plated a few weeks ago. While prices have increased slightly, which seems to be the trend everywhere, the food is quite creative. However, some portions, especially the appetizers, are a bit smaller than what we expected. I recommend asking the waiter about the prices when they mention the daily specials. A few people at our table ordered the Day Boat Scallops served on grits, which were decent. You get a half dozen medium-sized scallops on a rather mushy yet flavorful bed of grits. The cost? $52 per plate! That's more expensive than any other place I know, including five-star restaurants in downtown Pittsburgh. You might get me once, but I won't be back again.
This seems to be a tucked away gem in Bethel Park but my husband and I are SO glad we found it. The food was outstanding the fingerlings, The Chicken, and the pork shank (chop special) was so delicious. Plated lives up to its name. Each meal was presented like a work of art. Can’t wait to go back. Also, it’s BYOB which is a huge win. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
