The Map Room, a local bar in Regent Square, offers a laid-back atmosphere but struggles with inconsistent quality. While some patrons enjoy the friendly vibe and the selection of craft beers, many criticize the food for being bland and overpriced. The decor is often described as rundown, and service can lack finesse. Despite these shortcomings, recent management changes hint at a potential revival, introducing healthier menu options and innovative dishes. If you’re seeking a casual spot for drinks rather than a culinary experience, the Map Room remains a go-to destination, although expectations should be tempered.

This place is such a blast! It's your typical neighborhood dive bar. We arrived at 8 PM, and it wasn't too crowded. I've also never encountered such convenient street parking anywhere before! View all feedback.
What Lana L dislikes about The Map Room Grill And:
Charming and relaxed atmosphere at this restaurant. The entire place is themed around maps, which is quite fitting. They also have Trivial Pursuit cards at the booth tables, providing a fun way to pass the time while you wait. View all feedback.
This restaurant could be considered Pittsburgh's hidden gem. While everything on the menu is delicious, the burgers are especially noteworthy. They have a classic backyard cookout taste, but in the best way possible. The atmosphere is peaceful and charming, making it a great dining spot.
This restaurant used to be popular, but now it has gone downhill. The kitchen is dirty and the staff constantly changes, leading to inconsistent food service. The prices are high for what is offered, with little entertainment value. Overall, it is a disappointing experience. Despite its potential, with better management and a more skilled staff, this place could thrive. The location is good, but parking can be difficult.
I visited this restaurant a few weeks ago with a Japanese friend after moving into the neighborhood. The place appeared run down and neglected, with a crowd mostly consisting of middle-aged white patrons who loudly discussed USA pride. The draft beer was not working and there were only a few bottled options. I had expected a lively atmosphere based on seeing patrons outside, but my experience was quite different from what others had said. Perhaps being a person of color visiting a former Trump-supporting area played a role in my experience.
