Description

Huszar, a charming Hungarian and Eastern European restaurant, offers a unique dining experience filled with authentic flavors and a welcoming atmosphere. While many patrons praise the attentive staff and cozy setting, opinions on the cuisine vary. Some dishes shine, particularly the potato pancakes and soups, capturing the essence of traditional Hungarian fare. However, several diners express disappointment with certain entrees, describing them as bland and lacking flavor. Desserts also receive mixed reviews, with some being delightful while others fall short. Overall, Huszar provides a nostalgic glimpse into Hungarian dining, though culinary consistency appears to be a concern.

The food was excellent and the restaurant is situated in a wonderful neighborhood. I will definitely be returning.

The steak was terrible. It was overcooked and bland. The potatoes were soft and lackluster.

The food was delicious and seemed to be freshly prepared and kept warm. The sauces added to the dishes were excellent. The cream of onion soup was unique and flavorful. However, the dessert options were limited by the end of the day. We ordered the apricot cookies, but they were nothing special to finish off our dinner experience.

Went here for lunch with my sister on a weekend trip to Pittsburgh. I had pork schnitzel, she had chicken paprikas; we also had the red cabbage side and the cucumber salad. All 4 food selections were excellent. The schnitzel was crispy, but tender, and was delicious, and the red cabbage was fantastic. The Red cabbage was al-dente and reminded me of the texture of pickled ginger that is served with sushi. I don't know if that sounds appealing, but let me assure you it was. I tried my sister's food as well, and the chicken paprikas were so moist and tender. I think both entrees had the same reddish sauce, and they both came with excellent homemade dumplings. We were both too full for dessert.
