Pork cutlet curry with scallops hand roll. Definitely recommend hand roll. Sushi rice is on point with the sourness. The cutlet might need more salt but the outside is crunchy. Curry taste good as well.
Just wanted to grab something quick before a movie that was across the street. Very sparce decorations, not alot of frills. Looks more like small takeout joint with just a couple of tables, but sometimes that indicates decent food. Got some green tea, which was just Celestial seasonings tea bags. Kinda wanted a pot of tea or at least for it to be hidden if using. Anyway, salmon poke bowl was huge and super fresh. Could absolutely split between two people and the price was right for what you get. Not a bad joint.
The service was very polite and attentive as soon as we ordered, but was a little slow to start because they were very busy. but have geduld because eating is great! very casual setting that serves most students, but it is worth the trip, the sushi cook is amazing and will come and talk to them when they have asked. try the mango garnelen sushi it is delicious and something they can find nowhere else! They also have hot food and mochi!
Was suggested to go there by my friend I was meeting for dinner. Apparently they had recently changed the menu to be more sushi forward which was fine with me but not as much for my dining companion. The food was ok but nothing special. It did throw me a bit to have sushi with lettuce in it. I definitely prefer cucumber as the green to be in sushi. While it fine for dinner they are unfortunately situated in sq hill between many other Asian options that I’d prefer.
Lived on the West Coast for 10 years and have lived in Pittsburgh about 2 1/2 years. Was hard finding great sushi that was fresh and not bland until I stumbled across this restaurant. I have gone back a few times and love the the spicy cold noodles and various sushi options. Pricing is very reasonable too!
