This has been a go-to for us since moving to this area about six years ago. We have always had good experiences here, both pre-pandemic and takeout during. Good food, nice service. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Happy Sashimi:
I had a terrible experience with the service at this restaurant. I waited for more than 10 minutes at the front counter without anyone attending to me, so I decided to enter through another door. Once inside, a staff member told me to go ahead and then come back, which made no sense since I was already inside. I felt quite frustrated. Additionally, the server with very long nails was quite rude. View all feedback.

I wanted to try the Lion King roll with scallop bake. It took 10 minutes before anyone welcomed me. When I was finally greeted, I asked to place an order for these two rolls. I was told it would be a half-hour wait just for the rolls. This wait time for two rolls is simply unacceptable, so I decided to leave.
Unfortunately, it seems that the pandemic has taken a toll on Happy Sashimi. Perhaps we just visited on a bad night or maybe the new owners have made some changes. Either way, the food was disappointing. The tea was lukewarm, and the bento was subpar. The only decent items we had were the sashimi and sushi. My salad in the bento was relatively fresh, but the cucumber on top had clearly been sliced hours earlier. The noodle soup had a broth that lacked any flavor. Overall, it was quite a letdown.
IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES STAY AWAY. For lack of sushi restaurants in our area, this was one of the places we used to order sushi from. However, this last visit was the final one. I called to place our dinner order and informed them NO SESAME SEEDS. Upon getting home, opened up our boxes and sesame seeds everywhere. Spoke to Tara who apologized and said she will remake the order and that we would have to go back to pick it up but bring back all the sushi. So, my husband brought it back, she gave him an extra miso soup and rice. We realized that not only did they add sesame seeds to our order, they also forgot to add a lion king. They also forgot to put tonkatsu sauce with my husbands tonkatsu order and for our potato croquettes. Chris, the manager, calls me the next day and says he's sorry but the chef was really busy and it's an automatic thing to put sesame seeds. As a mother or a child with a peanut allergy, this is frightening. What if there had been an anaphylactic reaction. Poor excuse for their mistake and carelessness. I asked him if we would get compensated for having to drive back and wait ANOTHER 45 minutes for our order and he said well, the order was corrected and that he would not compensate us. He said we were given soup, and another lion king. WE NEVER EVEN GOT A LION KING TO BEGIN WITH. I mean...there's a reason it only has 2 stars. Lesson learned.
In order, I usually don't place bad reviews, but I have to draw attention to that. eating was not good at all, the sushi did not taste fresh. the fried callifornia roll tasted like teller water and the lion king's whale was not fresh. the only good was the mushrooms maybe and the meatballs were dry. dishes also had chip color. To be honest, I think they need to reconnect the menu, have better dishes and tables. I got sick shortly after leaving the rest of my life because eating really did a number on my own. I will not come back when they improve the whole restruante of eating, food quality, service. we didn't eat the rolls, but we left to some other place. everything needs to be improved for the price customers.
