Description

A recent visit to a popular Thai restaurant in Berkeley revealed a complicated dining experience. While the vibrant ambiance and charming decor draw patrons in, the service leaves much to be desired, characterized by indifference and rudeness from staff. Food quality varied; some dishes, like the sticky rice and curry, disappointed, while others, particularly the vegan and vegetarian selections, garnered praise. Though flavors can be vibrant and tempting, the high prices and additional surcharges might deter budget-conscious diners. With many dining options in the area, potential visitors might want to consider alternatives before making a reservation.

Staff are very kind and attentive and its a very pretty restaurant. My gf and I shared the roti w yellow curry sauce and chicken tom kha that was labelled vegan, it wasn’t vegan. I think we were meant to ask for the vegan option but I wish it was more clear on the menu if thats the case, we had assumed it’d be fake chicken. We ate it anyway it was pretty good. I liked the roti and yellow curry sauce better. The coconut thai tea was so very good.

The food at this restaurant is really good, but also quite expensive. There is a 20% surcharge for groups of five or more. A family of five ended up paying $180 for their meal, which is usually around $120 for Thai food. This restaurant is located in Berkeley, CA. The food is very spicy, but this is not immediately obvious from the menu. One member of the family found their dish to be so spicy that they couldn't finish it. The desserts were delicious. Overall, the food is good, but considering the high prices, it should be exceptional.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in all of east Bay. The service is great, the female owner is amazing, the food unbelievable. Go early or you'll have a wait. It's that food and popular. I love their peanut sauce and chicken satay.

I absolutely LOVED the ambiance both inside outside. They had bright red and yellow tables with paper lanterns above, flowers around, and a heater. Inside, they had pink floral wallpaper, pretty plates, Thai themed tablecloth and pretty neon lights. The food was just as good, amazing vegan and vegetarian options. We ordered the roti with curry and peanut sauce, vegetable pad Thai, pad see ew with tofu, and Thai iced tea. There’s so much more that I wanted to try, but will save it for next time. Service was also great.Vegetarian options: Amazing vegetarian and vegan optionsParking: Most days, the street parking costs money, but Sundays it’s freeWheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair ramps from the street to the restaurantDietary restrictions: Great for vegans, pescatarians, and vegetarians. Even had gluten free options as well
