Phillips Lane Chippy - Pendle
Phillips Lane Chippy
Description
In a competitive dining scene, this restaurant presents a mixed bag of experiences. While some patrons rave about its generous portions and excellent service, others are left disappointed by late deliveries and subpar food quality. Dishes like chow mein and salt and pepper ribs have been criticized for being overly dry and poorly cooked, while late orders have further marred the reputation. However, loyal customers appreciate the value for money and the unique combination of Chinese cuisine and traditional fish and chips. Overall, the restaurant seems to thrive on consistency for some, while others seek alternatives.

My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary at this restaurant. The service was excellent, they make a delicious battered sausage and my husband really enjoyed his steak pie. Overall, it was a fantastic place. I would give it a 10/10 rating.
I have always enjoyed the food at this restaurant. Any issues I have had were quickly resolved by the apologetic staff. The portion sizes are generous, often lasting for at least two meals. The food is both delicious and filling, offering good value for money.
Just got chow mein the noodles are so thin and so so dry! Chips under cooked and soggy gravey smelt terrible will not be going back even my dogs refused to eat the noodles never seen chowmein like that in my life!
This restaurant is fantastic. I happened to pass by at 6:45 in the morning and saw the owner sleeping outside with a battered sausage in his hand. He offered it to me when he woke up and I accepted. It was the most delicious sausage I have ever had. I even gave the owner a hug to show my appreciation.
This is absolutely the worst Chinese food I've ever had and I've had lots. We usually use Good Fortune which is excellent but closed on Tuesdays and then we had the mis fortune of ordering from here. We ordered salt and pepper ribs and salt and pepper chicken wings for starters. They were both really dry and the chicken wings tasted as though they had been cooked in burnt oil or oil that has been used far too many times. We also ordered beef chop suey and king prawn chop suey. The vegetables were over cooked and resembled grey, soggy, lumpy soup with a complete overdose of salt. The majority of the food is now in the bin. It was revolting! If I could have given zero stars I would have done but it wasn't an option. Worst takeaway ever!!! The egg fried rice was ok.
