I've been to many Lebanese places around the city but this place has a special place in my heart. The staff were really nice and the portions were large and fresh. Would definitely recommend to any and would go back if in the neighborhood! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tyros Shawarma and Donair Lebanese Cuisine:
It's actually called Nana shawarma and Donair. Service was fast and friendly. But rice is blaaah, chicken is bland , salad seems old. I hate the way the dribble garlic sauce on like cake icing. It just didn't work and needs help. Hope they figure...it out cause looks like a nice lady who runs it . Can't say I'll be back tho View all feedback.
You can’t beat the price! Dinner for two, two shawarmas 4 salads and drinks $25. Mcdonalds is more expensive. Food was fresh. An excellent meal to go or to eat in!
This restaurant serves fantastic comfort food that is filling and satisfying. The portion sizes are generous and will fill your stomach. The homemade hummus is freshly made and absolutely delicious. My favorite dish is the fattoush salad. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, making it a pleasure to dine in or pick up a meal. Definitely worth trying, you won't be disappointed.
Tyros has been on Jeanne d'Arc Blvd in Orleans for many years. It has an unusually large eating space for a Shawarma house but most people seem to take out, at least at dinner time when we usually stop by. The menu is pretty typical for this type of place. The chicken plates we ordered were generous. The fatoush and hummus were very good, and lots of both. The rice, precooked and reheated to order was good too. They were turning orders fast enough on a Saturday night at 5:30 that the shawarma chicken had a nice mix of moist and crispy meat and the portion again was quite generous. My wife and I each struggled to finish a plate. You could probably share one plate and add a couple more sides. Many places give you more of a Lebanese sampler plate, with several small portions of a variety of salads and sides, and a choice of starches, usually either rice or potatoes. If this is what you like, this place is not for you. Tyros seem to have a fixed plate of fatoush, rice, meat and hummus and resist substitutes. You get substantial portions of a more limited range of offerings, which is likely more typical of how it would be served at home. We keep a couple of jars of condiments like pickled turnips and peppers in the fridge to round out the plates at home. This place seems to promote 4 or 6 person family platters which do provide a wider range of offerings and again are quite quite generous and pretty good value. We have ordered this in the past and have usually found there are leftovers for lunch the next day. You put a deposit on a sturdy tray and return it when finished. I would not judge the food particularly outstanding, but it is consistently good, and the staff is friendly. There seems to be a loyal regular crowd because the staff seem to know what some patrons want without being told. Good neighbourhood restaurant.
We visit often and sorry to hear of your loss. He was a great person and will be missed by his customers. All the best for his family and friends. Tom and Heather
This guy is a master of the lebanese salad . His shawarmas are great too, and service is very friendly . He has no problem giving you extra garlic or sesame sauce . But try the shawarma salad , its amazingly tasty !
