Contribute FeedbackFauna is a mixed bag. Some rave about the exceptional food, wine pairings, and attentive service. Others are disappointed by high prices, small portions, and lackluster dishes. The cozy atmosphere and knowledgeable staff add a positive touch. Some recommend giving it a try, while others advise to steer clear. Overall, Fauna seems to be a hit or miss dining experience with a unique ambiance and diverse menu offerings.
Although the bison, boar, and other game dominated the menu, even our vegetarian diner found delicious food (eggplant Indian style if you must know.) Appetizer with duck prosciutto was excellent. Dessert very tempting. The waiter was fabulous and added a great deal to our enjoyment. Do try the specials and drink some of the beer and wines, all of which are meticulously chosen.
A very nice experience overall. We have the squid and ribeye (to see what the big fuss was all about.) Reality lived up to the hype. Great service, complete with sound wine advice. Both dishes were presented well and prepared even better. An exceptional combination of texture and taste.
Fauna's chef and attentive serving crew - offered a wonderful night of fine fair and perfect wine pairing for my business guests from overseas. Staff recommendations were more than helpful - and my guests remarked on the quality, freshness and local innovative touch presented in the dishes. Fauna's description of their food offerings a "Canadiana' - made Canada look even better to their eyes (and palettes.) So this is how Canadian's eat!
Found Fauna on Ottawafoodies...great lively atmosphere. Octopus carpaccio to start. Dry aged Ribeye and Rabbit's leg for dinner. Delicious. Highly recommend.
Yum! Had a great meal at Fauna. Starter soup was a very interesting cold soup with green apple flavours and it was great. Had bison as a main, best bison i have ever had. Pakoras were also fantastic. The chocolate dessert with the cola foam was terrific too! Will definitely go back!
