What User likes about Fishy's Tropical Grill:
Stopped in for lunch and ordered takeout. They have a few tables so you can dine in if you like. Food was definitely hot and flavourful. Loved the curry goat. Rice and peas were a little dry, plantain was cooked perfectly and the steam cabbage was spot on. Would have liked a little more veg as opposed to all the rice. Would definitely go back again. Best Jamaican curry goat I have had in Ottawa. Worth the trip. View all feedback. What User doesn't like about Fishy's Tropical Grill:
After not eating there for years, I traveled across town because I needed a roti fix. I ordered the chicken roti for $12.00(before taxes) and was very disappointed but the size and flavor. I know this isn't Toronto but come on. You can go to any mom and pop place in TO and get a decent size roti. The curry consistancy was poor at best. This is not a restaurant but a take out place. read moreAfter years of not dining at this restaurant, I made the trek across town in search of a roti fix. I ordered the chicken roti for $12 (before taxes) and was disappointed by the size and flavor. It felt more like a take-out place than a restaurant. In contrast, another reviewer found the curry goat to be hot and flavorful, with perfectly cooked plantains and cabbage. They enjoyed the meal so much that they ate it in the parking lot! Overall, customers appreciate the tasty options available at this establishment, with some recommending ordering the goat curry instead of the roti.
