Great food and great place for the best thai food in the city. The service is excellent and always friendly. I've going going to that restaurant on a few occasions already and I always return. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Coriander Thai Cuisine:
We were at a Thai restaurant up the street a year ago and quite enjoyed it. Stopped here in the rain thinking it was that restaurant.Every single dish was terrible. Hard to say anything to the cheerful waitress who kept asking if we were enjoying the food. View all feedback.
This Thai restaurant in Ottawa is the best, in my opinion. The Panang curry is excellent and much better than the overhyped Siam Bistro.
I have been a regular customer at this Thai restaurant for the past two years. It is the best Thai food in town. For $11.30 (including tax) you can get a soup and main course that is enough to feed two people. The restaurant is small and cozy, located on Kent Road. The service is extremely fast. They also offer regular pick-up orders with just 20 minutes notice for more than 10 meals. They are fantastic!
This was a take out order. WE had done a take out once before, not realizing it was through an intermediary (can't remember the name). On that occasion, the food was cold and not great. This time we ordered directly over the phone and went to pick it up. The person from whom I ordered was not rally all that interested in the order. She did not even ask for our name, just saying she would know who it would be by the order. When we picked it up and brought it home the shrimp rolls were two skinny rolls at $5.50 - definitely not worth the price. There wasn't even any sauce for them. The chicken pandas (chicken rolled in pandas leaves) wasn't rolled in the leaves as previously and the pad thai was okay. We will not be going back either to eat in or to take out. This used to be a top restaurant. Needless to say, we were very disappointed.
By far the worst food, let alone Thai food that I have eaten. To be honest, their spring rolls were good. I was also really hungry and ate my meal. I had the no. 47 with eggplants. It was extremely oily, greasy. I am still trying to get the after taste out. When the "waitress" came and gave us water, not even bothering to ask us how the food was, I told her it was greasy. She responded by saying it's the sauce for the eggplant. Not an offer of extra, not that we were asking for that. Poor service, poor food and would not recommend, nor return. The telling sign were the "excellence food certificates" displayed outside on their window dating back to 2002. Terrible overall.
Reasonable price, quick and good service, but above all incredible food! A must! My favourite are #20 chicken and #53.
