What Minerva Crist doesn't like about Cafe Mezzaluna:
I started with the soup of the day which was a broccoli bacon soup. The bacon tasted more like bacon bits, extremely salty and took away from the taste of the soup. I ordered one of the specials which was a veal chop. The chop was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were very good. To me the peppercorn sauce was average and did not enhance the flavor of the veal. I was too full to try dessert, cheesecakes, chocol... View all feedback.

A nice outside courtyard style patio that looks onto Elgin street. This is where a lot of the action is. Good food and friendly staff too!
We had thought that we might have one dinner here as it was convenient to the hotel. However, after the first evening, we had to come back a second time. Tutto era buono! Cindy did an outstanding job - thank you. Stan and his wife (owners) were very gracious and super to talk with. If every you're in Ottawa, stop here for great Italian food.
This restaurant in the hotel is a hidden gem. The food was exceptional especially the Veal Marsala. Shrimp cocktail had 5 huge crisp child shrimp for only $12. Best dinner we had on our Ottawa visit. We decided to try breakfast the next morning and it was just as good, with large portions and very reasonable prices.

I ordered one of the specials which was a veal chop. The chop was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were very good. To me the peppercorn sauce was average and did not enhance the flavor of the veal. I was too full to try dessert, cheesecakes, chocolate cake and tiramisu. I think it was a little pricey for the food served, but I didn't feel like venturing out further.
