Reviews - Union Tea Cafe
Reviews summary
Union Tea Cafe captures a blend of nostalgia and innovation, yet elicits mixed reactions from patrons. Once celebrated for its exquisite loose leaf tea collection, the current focus on alcohol and neglect of finer details has left some longing for prior owners. While food items, from scones to salads, have fluctuated in quality—some dishes suffering from freshness issues—others shine with unique flavors. The cozy atmosphere remains a highlight, complemented by friendly service. With a commitment to offering healthy options and a burgeoning drink menu, this cafe continues to evolve, promising potential for both loyal and new customers alike.

My mother in law , aunt and myself stoped for brunch. I ordered a m m scone , I got a lemon and it was very stale. You always had the best scones. Ordered a coffee with cream didn?t get the cream until asking for it again. Then asked for a fork to eat amini cake. That was good. Mother had the chicken soup and said that was good as were her danish. My aunt ordered deep fried Macand cheese. They were over done and had no flavor at all. We didn?t eat them. When we sat down the table and bench was dirty aswere several others so no where else to sit. I cleaned our table. Very disappointed as I had been in before and everything wasgood , clean and service was good. I don?t know what happened today but I won?t be back for a while. I never complain but somethings need to be improved on.
I miss when the old owners had this place. Used to have an amazing wall that showcased all their loose leaf teas and, now it's just a bunch of booze. Guy who made my tea just threw it together didn't let me know how long I should let the tea bag steepand, didn't seem to care too much. Food is good. Not the same but, good. The vibe is gone tho.
Since I first tried this place about 3 months ago, I've probably gone 6 times, and ordered takeout once. I absolutely LOVE this place. Probably my favorite place to eat in town, but DEFINITELY my favorite tea place I've ever been. I'm a forever fan!

The customer service was awesome and the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. The prices were reasonable. I'll definitely be back soon.
Stopped in for breakfast. Girl at the register said they stopped serving breakfast at 11:00. Looked at my watch it was 11:12!! Come on, do better.
We had a wonderful lunch here a couple of days ago. The food was great and the prices were very reasonable. The service was quick and the staff were very pleasant. I can specifically recommend the oatmeal-raisin-walnut cookies.
This place was amazing! Stopped by on a road trip and got a few items. Prices were very fair as well for what you’re getting. The salads are amazing and very unique (Windsor salad), the sandwiches are delicious (artichoke) and the pulled pork app with chips and sour cream were like nothing I’ve ever had before. I do wish they added a little more of pulled pork and sour cream to it though, to cover up the rest of the chips. I’ve had better tea before. Maybe add some more honey? Not sure. But still wasn’t bad at all! Food is definitely 10/10.

The tea was amazing. “Lady Sansa” was delicious! The food was great. We thought for a snack and my daughters did their best to finish their, even after full because “it was so good mom”. My spinach-artichoke quiche was delicious and my girls recommend the waffles and breakfast sandwich on a bagel. Such a sweet little place. Olean needs more places like these for tourists and locals. Very recommended.
I liked going here. The atmosphere was nice and the food was delicious. We ordered the vegan tomato soup and a peasant market Pita without cheese. Only Bummer was that there were no vegan desserts. However, I recommend this place to all. The atmosphere was nice and the team was very friendly and fast.
As a college student, it's hard to find healthy places to eat. You can order online and pick it up. I am an enthusiastic tea drinker and with 90 options you will never be disappointed. They have amazing food, the best architecture and atmosphere. I recommended this place to everyone. Olean begins to make it right with these new, well thought-out places.
I had a grilled cheese with tomato and bacon, the she-crab soup, and a pot of Dragon well green tea. It was all amazing. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in the area!
