Harley is a phenomenal young lady who took amazing care of my wife and I last night. The 4 Mike IPA is a great local recommendation for my Bleu Cheese Porterhouse! My wife loved her Crab Cakes and was sad we were just passing through. We will always make it a point to stay on Olean on our travels Northward from Virginia to Ontario Canada!

I had the rubs and both had a Sirloin steak. the server was not friendly or accommodating. the interieur is well kept and the decor was beautiful. but our food wasn't so great. both sirloins were tiny and very thin and cooked over. my rub was dried and the brot was so hard that the skin is taken from the dach of my mouth. my drink had gone about half through my meal, but not to find a server. I've been there since I was a child, and every time I go to the food quality, it's worse. I'm at the point that I don't feel excited to go there anymore. Maybe it's time to go to other places. then when I left, I was hit at the back door with a person who wanted me to give her money. that's not what you want to deal with after lunch. I'm sorry, I'm not back soon.

The food is bland, the service is below average, and the restaurant itself is quite dirty. Both times I tried to order their signature dishes, but they were sold out on a Saturday night at 6:00 pm? I ended up settling for the roast beef and filet mignon. Both dishes were bland and tough, and the filet mignon was overcooked, especially for a premium cut. I am not a picky eater, but I believe the hype surrounding this place is from people with unsophisticated palates.

Restaurant replaced what we asked and we moved ourself since it wasn't offered to us at the time. It's still my favorite beef place in the southern tier but this is not out 1st time in the last year with issues of some sort. I don't blame the family or the Restaurant, since these things happen, but they could of handled it a bit more professional considering it's a higher end establishment and the fact there was puke pretty much under our table too.

She was pleasant,... read more Our server, Chris, at the Beef N Barrel on Union St. in Olean, NY, was one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in our travels. She was pleasant, professionally friendly, and perfectly attentive without hovering. The Roast Beef Dinner was worth every penny, with tender beef generously covered in gravy. A special note for those who prefer their steaks medium rare - the roast beef is actually rare, so be sure to order yours medium if you don't want it too juicy. The homemade rolls were delicious and you can't go wrong with any choice of their mixed-in kitchen salad dressings. If you happen to be traveling near Olean, NY, make sure to stop in and see Chris at the Beef N Barrel on Union St.
