What Rachel Meador dislikes about Oishi Sushi Hibachi:
Drove an hour because I was craving hibachi. Just for them to be take out only yet they have the same prices for the show. Not worth the money. Go to a real hibachi restaurant in Elmira or Rochester . View all feedback.

"Exceptional Service! The staff was very friendly, and the food was outstanding. I dined in for lunch and would rate everything a perfect 5 out of 5, including the food, service, and atmosphere. I highly recommend the dumplings and sushi!"
In terms of service, I found it to be average, and the atmosphere also received a score of 3. For lunch, you can expect to spend around $10 to $20 per person. Some standout items on the menu include the rolls, shrimp tempura, soup, and sashimi sampler. Fortunately, there's a free parking lot nearby, making it relatively easy to find a spot.
I found the $5 for a small bowl of hibachi noodles to be steep, especially since they tasted more like plain soy noodles with no flavor—extremely bland and not enjoyable. The pork gyoza, priced at $7 for five small pieces, were just okay but certainly not the highlight of the meal. For dessert, the deep-fried cheesecake was disappointing as well; it was a tiny, bland slice with lackluster canned whipped cream for $4.50. The soup was also quite bland and overpriced – mostly just vegetables and noodles in water. My dining companion had to add soy sauce, pepper, and dumpling sauce to make it somewhat palatable. Overall, service was decent, but the food did not live up to the prices charged. I wouldn’t recommend it based on my experience. Not going to lie, I was skeptical at first because it looked shut down. But the staff was friendly, and the food was beyond amazing. I’m very picky when it comes to hibachi but this place exceeded my expectations. If I wasn’t so far away, I would 100% come back here more often! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
Nestled in Olean, this restaurant offers a varied dining experience that draws in both sushi aficionados and hibachi lovers. While many guests rave about the freshness of the sushi and the engaging presentations, some have expressed disappointment over inconsistent steak preparation and lackluster soups. Service quality seems to vary, with a few patrons noting delays and unsatisfactory interactions. Yet, the restaurant earns accolades for accommodating dietary restrictions and delivering delightful meals. With a warm atmosphere and attentive staff, it remains a popular spot for families and friends alike, despite some room for improvement in specific areas.

I kept seeing this post, and many investors were recommending that I reach out to him. Eventually, I decided to take their advice, and I’m glad I did—it turned out to be completely legitimate. I followed his advice and made an investment, and within a week, I saw substantial returns. Just last week, I was able to successfully withdraw my funds, which really impressed me. I drove an hour to try the hibachi, but I was disappointed to learn that the prices are the same regardless of the show. It didn’t feel like it was worth the money. I suggest visiting a genuine hibachi restaurant in Elmira or Rochester instead.
Food is not good, portions are tiny for some appetizers. Soup tasted like powdered Kikkoman
During our visit to family in Olean, we had the pleasure of enjoying both sushi and a hibachi meal, and everything we tasted was fresh and delicious. I'm looking forward to trying more items from the menu on our next visit!
I visited for the first time since the pandemic, and although there’s no dining inside, the sushi and squid salad are just as excellent as I remember. The food arrives quickly and is, as always, delicious. I highly recommend trying the inkfish salad; it's so sweet and savory that if no one told you what it was, you wouldn’t even guess! Oishi offers the best and freshest ingredients around, at least in my opinion. Even the ginger served with my sushi is incredibly fresh and flavorful. My husband, a meat lover, thoroughly enjoyed the hibachi steak plate, which had plenty of tender filet and sides to satisfy him. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu—trust me, you won't regret it!
I never expected to enjoy sushi again after my experience at Walmart, but I'm really glad I decided to try it at a proper sushi restaurant. Thank you!

The soup was another disappointment—too expensive and very bland. My dining partner attempted to enhance the flavor by adding soy sauce, pepper, and dumpling sauce, but it still ended up tasting only like noodles and vegetables in water. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.
For the first time since 2019, I had the opportunity to dine inside Oishi, but I noticed that the wait times were longer than I expected due to staff shortages. They are currently not offering the Hibachi show because of these staffing challenges. So, why did I still rate it 3 stars? The answer is straightforward: the food is still exceptional. I dined with my sister, who ordered the Chicken and Shrimp Hibachi, while I opted for the Steak and Shrimp. The shrimp was cooked to perfection, and my steak was beautifully medium rare, just how I like it. However, my sister found her chicken to be a bit dry, and I had to agree after tasting a piece. I'm hopeful that the staffing situation will improve in the coming weeks and months, but for now, be prepared for a longer wait for some truly excellent food.
I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was extremely slow, and the portion sizes were unacceptably small for the price we paid. We had to wait an excessive amount of time and even had to request a drink refill. The sushi was overwhelmed by the taste of mango, which threw off the balance of flavors. The soup was bland and didn't have enough meat, with far too many vegetables. To make matters worse, the dessert portion was also very small. Overall, I don't think it was worth the money. I really feel like I wasted $70 there.

The miso soup is light on the paste if you like it that way. I used a previous tip and went with the Sumo Roll... very tasty. The salmon sushi was on point. The spicy crab salad is excellent.
