The chicken liver parfait wi... read more I randomly chose this restaurant, having never been to Oban before, and I must say, I either got lucky or this place is truly chic! The chicken liver parfait with pear chutney was absolutely to die for! I swear, I was nearly brought to tears after just one bite. Then came the perfectly cooked pork belly, accompanied by buttery corn and what I think was a parsnip puree, along with some delightful greens. Luckily, my very appreciative stomach was finally treated to a perfect rhubarb crumble for dessert. I can honestly say that in my 47 years on this planet (it happens to be my birthday), this meal ranks in my top three.

David was such an excellent host and John was making magic in the kitchen.... read more We are at Etive last night. Undoubtedly one of the best meals I've ever had in Oban. David was such an excellent host and John was making magic in the kitchen. I was driving so David came up with an imaginative and delicious non alcoholic cocktail for me alongside my husband's negroni. The chicken liver parfait was so delicate and the squid and chorizo starter was delicious and just the right size. 2 rib eye steaks cooked exactly as we wanted them, fabulously crunchy chips and sweet ripe tomatoes in the salad. David's recommendations of wine to go with each course were spot on. What a wonderful evening, thank you.
