Without a doubt, this is the best pizza in Oakland. The owners are always friendly and open to chatting about their pizza. It’s absolutely delicious, with the best crust I’ve ever had. I get it every week and am never disappointed. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Leaning Tower:
I ordered a pizza from this place, and I found that the crust was consistently burnt and the dough was tough and chewy. By the time I got halfway through, my jaw actually started to hurt from trying to finish it. I'm really disappointed because I live nearby and have never had issues like this with any other pizza. Really great pizza owned by a really good dude. Leaning Tower is a neighborhood gem. The Detroit style is a current fave, theirs is less expensive than other pizza joints. Highly recommend this wonderful business.
Delicious pizza! Had thin crust and detroit style. Extremely kind staff. Would order ahead :
Hands down the best pizza in the Bay! They have a ton of variety: classics like pepperoni, margarita, Hawaiian etc. but personally I go for the specialties: pear and Gorgonzola, roasted pepper and sausage (which is spicy and sweet), and my all-time favorite: burrata, pistachio, fig, and arugula. They also have 'Detroit style pizza ' which I had never had before but it 's almost like a deep dish except more sophisticated and more cheese! The owner is really passionate about getting the flavor right and it shows.
Some of the best pizzas can be found in Oakland if not the entire Bay Area! I'm from the Middle West and find a good pizza place was a fight for the last seven years. This place is not disappointed. A common problem of other pizzerias in the bay is that they are excessively greasy or too cheesy or jump on blows and simply have bad crust. Leaning Tower gets a high degree on all these points. Very recommended.
