Pomella - Oakland
Pomella
Description
Nestled near Dona Tomas, this inviting Israeli-Mediterranean restaurant offers a vibrant atmosphere and a plethora of vegan options. Diners appreciate the fresh ingredients and tasty dishes like stuffed falafel and flavorful mezze. While many menu items receive high praise, concerns about inconsistent quality, particularly in rice dishes and occasional blandness in sauces, persist. Service is often highlighted as friendly and accommodating, with some patrons noting a well-structured dining space. Though delivery experiences can vary, overall, the restaurant provides a commendable selection of authentic cuisine at reasonable prices, making it a worthwhile visit for both locals and newcomers alike.

Pleasant spot to hang outside and share little bites with friends. Nice patio and great food. Also have plenty of options for take away, though they do sell out of items by the end of the day. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Recommendation for vegetarians: Somewhat recommend Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section, Clearly labeled vegetarian dishes Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options: Free parking lot, Paid parking lot, Free street parking, Paid street parking Parking: Very Small lot shared by two restaurants. We had to find street parking a block away. This is a popular area, so build in time to look for parking. Kid-friendliness: Nice patio, good to visit with a family. We saw plenty of families there. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps to entry, flat surfaces from sidewalk to entry, but the parking lot is gravel.

Mediterranean food with an expansive and impressive menu. The roasted eggplant with tahini was spectacular! Also enjoyed the chicken tagine and almond baklava. Purchased the green hot sauce and, while good, didn’t seem spicy to me at all. Parking hereis really challenging at lunchtime.
