They refer to them as red tacos because some people struggle to pronounce birria, but in my opinion, this is the best birria in the Bay Area. I have yet to find any other place that comes close. The service is fast, the staff is friendly, and they now have a semi-permanent location at a brewery. Overall, it is a fantastic experience. View all feedback.
What Janet Snyder doesn't like about La Santa Torta:
This is my second time here, after a good first experience I was optimistic about returning. Unfortunately, this second trip was really disappointing. I ordered a torta and it was mid at best. The portion of meat was meager, it was pretty much all bread, for $16+ dollars per torta I expected better. View all feedback.
I absolutely love this food truck in the area. Their birria is exceptionally juicy and flavorful, it doesn't even need any broth. They offer their birria in various forms, but my favorite is their red tacos. I highly recommend trying them out.
I haven't had the food because they are unreliable about being where they say they are going to be.
I tried the birria tacos at off the grid in fort mason, and was not too impressed. Thought they were just ok, nothing special. I waited about an hour, the line was so long. I thought they were over priced. I figured the broth to dip with would come with the tacos but I guess it was extra since I was charged $19 dollars.. pretty pricey if you ask me. The wait time and price was a turn off for me.
Took my order even though their truck wasn't set up and then sent me to different locations, both closed
