I asked if it was okay to leave my car in the car park as I was cycling the Brampton Valley Way and returning for a late lunch. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. When we returned at 2:30pm, we were simply told to take a seat and order at the bar. Unfortunately, we were not given menus, so we had to return to the bar to collect them. The food arrived quickly, and we enjoyed our two courses from the lunch offer. However, after we finished eating, we waited for our plates to be cleared and asked if we wanted anything else, but no one came to check on us. We were planning to order hot chocolates, but we couldn't wait any longer. When I went to pay at the bar, no one asked if we enjoyed our meal or if everything was okay. Because of this lack of attention, I did not leave a tip. It was disappointing to see that the staff either lacked training or simply didn't care.
During our last visit, we encountered several problems, but tonight everything went smoothly. Despite being 'out' of several items, it didn't impact our selections. All of our meals were delicious. The service was prompt, and the staff was friendly. While it was a bit pricey, that seems to be the norm everywhere nowadays.
We arrived to sell at the Christmas Fair, staff stood by the bar watching and laughing at people struggling to get through the door with there stock. Ordered Latte Hot chocolate, no complimentary biscuits. Stayed for lunch after. Starters and meal, was amazing and very quick. 30 mins after finishing meal, plates still on table and no staff to be seen. I had to go to the bar to find a member of staff to ask for the desert menu. So food was great. But staff weren’t. Won’t be eating there again.
We had our work Xmas meal here, food was great and service very good too, especially as we were a big table of 15. Would recommend.
The service at this restaurant was incredibly slow. We arrived at 7:30 and didn't leave until close to 11 o'clock. The waitress was slow at taking our orders and struggled to multitask without prompting. The bill was incorrect and the waitress had trouble understanding why. We had to work it out ourselves and eventually got it sorted, but not without a lot of back and forth. Additionally, they were advertising a festive menu at one price but charged us a higher price. Despite the lovely food, the poor service really let the pub down. It's a shame, as this is one of our local pubs, but we would hesitate to go back again.
